Finally, the real new album from the real Pet Shop Boys is playing in our house!

But honestly, did anybody see both Pet Shop Boys AND OMD in the same place? They even share their taste for Schlager!

Simple Minds w okolicach „Big Music” (2014) obiera podobny kierunek, jak Blancmange czy OMD w tym samym okresie. Ciekawe. Na pewno się nie umówili na to, więc wygląda, że im podobnie w duszy gra.

OMD’s new single “Kleptocracy” has the lyrics nobody wants to hear.

Going all synthy and electronic for tonight's cooking tunes courtesy of Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark - Organisation, released 1980. Not played this for years, jumps back to age 20!

Had to get out of the house this morning. Down by the Tolomato River. These are all SOOC because I’m lazy like that. Well, contrast adjustment on the three in the tree.

- – Architecture & Morality (1981). OMD stuck closer to forbears like Kraftwerk and Neu! than most of their synth-pop peers, giving their work an austere facade (architecture) in tension with a natural pop instinct (morality). A mellotron, choral synths, and bursts of guitar darken the mood on "The New Stone Age" and almost ambient "Sealand," while the "She's Leaving," "Souvenir" and two "Joan[s] of Arc" feel all too human.

ISS track in the lower left quadrant. Crescent moon in the upper left. My ugly mug at the top of the frame. Playing with the MEIKE circular fisheye. About a stop slower than the mZuiko 8mm/f1.8. Should’ve used the remote to trip the shutter. .3

I do want to know if there are others like me, over-stimulated right now about the simultaneous release today of 1989 TV, the album DANSE MACABRE, the new record BAUHAUS STAIRCASE, and a new song for an .

#NowPlaying #CD thread here!

It's been a very long time since I used my fancy 5 disc autochanger and today marks the day that I start using it again! #Vinyl might be the cooler medium, but CD's are actually my favourite. I collected an amount of rare CD's or albums that are otherwise not available for streaming so that I can rip them and play the music on my phone. This way I also actually own the music, and I won't see it disappearing out of my downloads. (Buggles second album was taken down.)

A picture of when I finally got to buy the player and installed it under my record player.

DanielDeur,

: - Marquee Moon
European reissue.

Not my CD but I am borrowing it from a friend. Interesting album, but nothing really stayed with me yet, now that I have listened to it twice. It's just a tad funky and the vocals are akin to that of 's lead singer in my opinion. I certainly will (have to) listen to this again!
