Steuern).

Anteil Ausgaben für Personal etwa 75%.

How can economics be a field of science? All sciences are based on the Earth’s (or universe's) natural laws.

How can unlimited economic growth on a finite planet be possible?

Why doesn't wealth accummulated (stolen) by a few rich individuals trickle down to the poor?

Economics is not based on reality, so why is it called a field of science?

The correct response to these billionaires screaming and howling with pain over President Biden’s proposal for them to pay a 25% minimum tax rate is…

“What???? How are they not paying 25% already like the rest of us?”

End trickle-down economics immediately.

Here is President Biden's proposal explained:

"...some people continue to defend trickle-down theories which assume that economic growth, encouraged by a free market, will inevitably succeed in bringing about greater justice and inclusiveness in the world. This opinion, which has never been confirmed by the facts, expresses a crude and naive trust in the goodness of those wielding economic power and in the sacralized workings of the prevailing economic system." - Pope Francis

Mitchell, Austin. ‘Revenge of the Rich: the neoliberal revolution in Britain and New Zealand’. Canterbury University Press, 2017.

Austin Mitchell was a UK Labour MP for the years 1977-2015 and prior to that lived and lectured in Aotearoa for 8 years, part of the original team that founded the Political Science department at Canterbury University.

‘Revenge of the Rich’ is a readable overview of what neoliberalism (NL) is, how it was introduced and adopted in Britain (Thatcherism) and Aotearoa (Rogernomics) and its consequences. It’s a solid little taster and intro into NL in Aotearoa and by comparing and contrasting it with Britain, it fleshes out the contexts in which NL was instituted here and why, and how it failed in both countries.

If a book about economics can be called “lively”, this one is. It’s not a textbook and doesn’t read like one. It’s piqued my interest in NL, austerity, and related stuff. Aotearoa just had a General Election and both the Nats’ and ACT’s talking points reflected the same failed NL crap Mitchell documents. I suppose a frightened populace will goosestep behind snakeoil salemen touting expired ideas if they’re unaware those ideas have been tried, tested, and failed.

It's just more reason why dual power is so important and why engaging with and building within your communities is really the only way we’ll build resilience against the pendulum swing of politics.

Labor Day reminder: If the min wage increased at the rate of inflation & productivity since 1960 it'd be $26 today—not $7.25. Meaning—billionaires & corps have stolen at least $19/hour from working Americans for 60 years.

That’s generational theft from the working class to keep people in poverty.

We don't suffer a lack of resources—but an excess of greed.

ICYMI, this is NOT a good thing.

When ONE percent of the population is given more than 1/4 of all income, it creates an unhealthy unequal society. This is NOT good for democracy nor for the working classes whose supports the one-percenters' obscene wealth.

And yet the wants to give the already rich even more tax-breaks and tax-payer funded handouts. Using the known lie of as justification.
