It was initially done in 1949 by Charles Selberg, an artist from #GrandForks ND who went on to do many impressive things with his life. The painting was whitewashed shortly after its completion by a group against the consumption of alcohol. In 2003, Chandler O'Leary, an artist from the Fargo-Moorhead area, restored the painting.
I was not expecting whiskey (Glenfiddich Vat 01) and roasted chestnut complementing each other this good.
I poured a litre of water into a bowl, then added a teaspoon of salt into the water, then mixed them. Then I added half kilos of chestnut, pre-cut, into the solution. I made chestnuts soak the water for like 30 mins. After that, I took them out, and fried them on my Air Fryer, cooked them for 15 mins at 200 Celsius, on the top steel grill thingy.
This is a special summer only flavor that's around for a limited time.
Probably Crown Royal's best flavor of all time. It just smells so damn good right in the bottle. The taste is amazing. You can certainly taste the sweetness and the bitterness of the blackberries mixed perfectly with the Crown itself.
Friday night Glencadam Whisky Tasting 😄 we are kicking off with the PX Sherry Cask then the Reserva De Porto Tawny and finishing with the 10 yo. All three are 46% abv, NC, NCF, great value at under 50UK (the ten is under 40) and delicious 😀
PX finish - dark fruit, figs, raisins, cherries and spicy ginger.
Tawny Port finish - bags of red fruit, jammy spice and vanilla.
10 y/o - Bright and citrusy, banana and pineapple. Zesty. Nutmeg spice.
Settling down to Friday night football and a Scottish Cup Game - Morton facing Motherwell with the winners through to the quarter-finals. I fancy Greenock Morton to get through.
It is Saturday, not that it matters much to me, I end up doing pretty much the same things I did on Friday. But there was a time that the most wonderful thing about Saturday was that it allowed time to recover from Friday night. Have you ever noticed that in the movies, everybody drinks hard liquor, which is invariably offered to casual quests. When a character arrives home, he will first walk to his bar and pour two fingers of his favorite. whiskey. I've never known anybody to do that, grab a beer maybe. I have known alcoholics who would keep bottles of Jim Beam stashed everywhere in case of emergency. Straight whiskey is not an easily acquired taste.
“The real tragedy of life was that whiskey didn’t even burn anymore. Made me shake my head sometimes, but I still drank it because I liked the taste.” - Dave Matthes, Mercy
Besides the obvious 🍆🍑 thoughts one has on a night this freaking cold, these frigid temps make me want to either move further south or buy a ridiculous number of new boots. There is no in between...
...other than, again...more 🍆🍆🍆🍑🍑🍑
PS - clearly #Whiskey is lowering my filter tonight 😆
Jonny Lang Exploded Onto the Scene When a Teenager With His 1997 Release: “#Lie To Me”
Just ask #BuddyGuy, the famous #blues#singer who played with Lang in the summer of 1998: Guy told Sean McDevitt of #Guitar magazine, “That kid has what it takes, man.” “Once, someone told me blues is like #whiskey.” After a certain number of years, people talk about how well the whiskey has aged.
The shelves of most wine shops in #Gurgaon are nowadays filled with #Japanese#whiskey. Don't know when the trend started. Got these for friends back home and well, it was a first for all of us. Been a teetotaler for quite sometime but decided to join them for this one - #Christmas festive season and catch up etc. #Japan#Scotch
