Chances are high you know Samuel Barber's beautiful classical piece Adagio for Strings. It has been used in several films, including Platoon.

But not as many people know that there's also a choral variation, called Agnus Dei. Personally, I think that's even more beautiful. Listening to it always gives me goosebumps. Turn up the volume, close your eyes and enjoy...

Stewart Beatch composed one of the most rewarding climaxes I've ever sang in his four part composition of "Chosen Family"

It was a privilege and an honour to premier this work back in January with @chronosvocalensemble and the poet, John Barton, in attendance from Victoria, BC.

Would you have a look at this dangerous mob of extremists ... erm ... singing in a workmens' hall in south Wales? I hope the local MP has police protection. 🙄 😡
Charlotte Church leads a choir in a special arrangement of "From The River To The Sea" in Bedwas, Caerphilly on Saturday. Proceeds from the event are going to the Gaza Hospital Ambulance Appeal.

In concert with @chronosvocalensemble, the University of Alberta Madrigal Singers performed Canadian composer Cy Giacomin's "The boy in outer space".

I absolutely loved it. I think you will too.

Certainly left the absolute best performance of my choir's history on the stage tonight, celebrating ten years of the choir's existence and nine years of my participation.

It featured a world premiere of a Canadian composer's first-ever musical setting of Victoria, BC's Poet Laureate John Barton's work.

So incredibly proud of what @chronosvocalensemble accomplished tonight.

Here's the first movement of the premiere of Stuart Beatch's "Chosen Family".

With all the bullshit, I'm turning back to things I can control. That being the music I'm so proud to make with @chronosvocalensemble.

This is J. S. Bach's Alleluia from BWV 230 from our concert at the beginning of November.

Nine years ago we produced a virtual that I feel was one of the most influential and important of its time.

George Chung arranged this incredible arrangement of Vienna Teng's "Hymn of Acxiom" and it rings so true to this day.

I'm so proud to have conducted this important work.

Must be because of the season + the videos I've been clicking, I got recommended this choral rearrangement of Sudirman's 31 Ogos. (Apparently the conductor is Sarawakian?) Short and sweet, esp if you like choir stuff.

"Written in July 2023, over the course of four days in which the measured worldwide average temperature broke the previous heat record every single day, this piece is intense, repetitive and discomfiting."

If you're a or and think this sounds like something your group might be interested in... check out "rising" at . https://choirsforclimate.com/2023/07/22/rising/ It's for SATB choir with a quartet or semichorus of lower voices (e.g. AATB).
