I agree with @Dahlialith assessment of the “new” ethics rules #SCOTUS published - of little value except ‘insofar as it’s phrased to imply, perhaps for the first time since this ethics mess began, that the court is aware of public opinion, it’s a tiptoe in the right direction.”

As Tim Hardford (FT) highlights the Goldin's distinction between & is indicative of the issue of greedy jobs (in the USA).

Lawyers as a profession, a classic greedy job requiring long hours & prompt travel, are patterned by gender discriminations & inequity.

Pharmacists, however who have organised their profession into teams & so allow the job to be balanced with a 'greedy' home job, have little gender pay gap at all!

Pharmacy as a profession may be the future?

In other words, in the end, an asset is only worth what you can get someone to pay for it... until then any valuation is potentially accurate.

So I hope that helps you this weekend!

#Trump’s #Trial in #NewYork #Civil #Fraud Case Begins

The trial is scheduled to last until the end of Dec but is expected to end sooner.

Trump arrived in the courtroom & strode past AG #LetitiaJames, seated in the first row, w/o making eye contact & immediately took a seat at the defense table.

While pool photographers took his picture at the defense table, looking solemn, in camera-ready way, Judge #Engoron looked amused.

I don't believe that the two-day bar exam measures competence to practice law. I think it is a measure of who is good at standardized exams. Based on a arbitrary score, an individual can open a practice and represent clients in areas never even tested on the exam.

The CA State Bar BoT will consider a proposal for an alternative pathway to licensure.

I hope you will read the full proposal. It's time we measured what matters.
