Update. If believe they need to keep up alumni donations, note that phased out legacy admissions (2010-2020) and even increased alumni donations.

Hi I'm Pierre, changed from Lego geek to computer geek at 11 when I touched a computer; they weren't that common in '80.
Studied computing at uni, became software . Worked in several , but not only.
Switched main OS to in 1996. From time to time I contribute to projects, last to date being .
I enjoy (sometimes play , but I need to replace my aging kit now), or .

pango,

My father died in September 2021. He was a all his life since the age of 15, and left a huge wonderful , that I decided to digitize (foolish enterprise, I know) . I'm not sure yet how I should share it with the world.

leveling up type coverage of a project using "ReturnTypeFromStrict*"-rules is just awesome.

I am working on a new rule which infers native return types based on native parameter types

Would you rather do something great for all of humanity but be remembered as one of the worst people who ever lived, or do nothing with any lasting impact in your life and be remembered as a hero to all people?

The edgelords and incels who whinge about #AffirmativeAction don't even understand what legacy admission is because they've never gotten anywhere near #Harvard or #Yale .

#Legacy admissions and a host of other accomodations makes it possible for them to coast through on easy mode.

Meanwhile in the real world, we have to be #TwiceAsGood .

While we're talking affirmative action, 43% of white students admitted to Harvard in 2019 were legacies, athletes or related to staff/donors.

Damn. As expected:

Steve Vladeck:

: strikes down Harvard and UNC race-based affirmative action programs.

… says they illegally use race.

Mystal:

John Roberts says that affirmative action at Harvard and UNC violate the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment.

That means it's dead.

It's 6-3. Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson dissent.

You managed to get a passed that means they would have to you for the privilege of to you, didn't you?

Now they get to choose whether to continue linking to you, or not.

You can't have it both ways with "You must link to us, but you must pay us to link".

I think they're in for a rude awakening.

The social policy known as the nuclear family is intended to divide families and enforce class/caste based systems. It is used as an example by advocates for as an indication of wealth growth and social cohesion. It is in fact the opposite. People are given expectations that are well beyond their ability to control, expected to fail, and limit their class mobility. You are given exactly the right amount of power that is under threat at any moment. This is how you control people en masse.

A great read from @glennf on unlocking a deceased person's device.
