Probably rainy Saturday 5/18, but like a 1/4 inch - highs in the upper 60s Friday, upper 50s Saturday & Sunday. Pack a poncho and/or the goretex, and don't forget your daytime SPF, despite the cloudy forecast.

Waited in a field up in Andover MA for about an hour thinking I was seeing stuff, and then an intense green curtain appeared with some subtle movement from moment to moment.

Possible major winter storm for New England this week. (via @theeyewallwx )

"The current thinking is that the greatest odds of heavy snow are most likely from southern New Hampshire and Vermont into western Maine. Snow and/or sleet will be possible down into parts of northern Massachusetts as well, north of the Worcester area. This could be some very heavy, wet snow for parts of southern New Hampshire and southwest Maine in particular, from Keene and Concord to Lewiston. "

The storm that passed through Massachusetts last night knocked an incredible amount of brand new buds off of the trees. I’m sure millions of years of evolution means the trees are able to “weather the storm” OK, but I wonder if it will have some sort of impact, especially on the fruit trees.

It’s starting to cool down after our mid 60s temps (not normal in New England in February). I haven’t had to turn the heat on for two days but I think it’s almost time.

Found just enough snow on Prospect Hill to do a single and surprisingly dangerous ceremonial sled ride on the sled I bought yesterday in anticipation of the storm.

I wasn't relying on the NYT snow predictions, but I wanted to see how well they did.

It's not good. Do not rely on NYT predictions for a number of things, this included. I joked to my housemate that this was worse that their election ones.
