Just back from seeing #Furiosa. It’s a very different film from #FuryRoad in structure and pacing (Fury Road is peak “chase movie”, Furiosa is an epic decades-spanning revenge tale) but it’s as visually sumptuous and audacious as anything Miller has ever directed. 100% worth seeing on a big screen while you can.

@mpirnat yet it feels so very in the mode of Fury Road. If you liked one…

@reasie Zero disagreement! I kinda got western vibes from Furiosa that I didn’t from Fury Road, but for sure filtered through Miller’s Fury Road sensibilities.

2024 marks the 45th anniversary of sci-fi horror masterpiece Alien, which was released May 25, 1979.

The first time I saw it I was pretty young, it was on TV and censored. We actually had it recorded on a VHS from TV, which is something my family did a lot. I only saw the full uncensored version years later! 😂

@jake4480 @horror 45 years?? OMG, how did that happen?! I saw it again a couple of years ago -- it's still a great movie.

@AskPippa @horror ha! And for real. I've seen it so many times - and all the sequels. And the prequel! 🤣 and now there's a new one coming. Wild

The "Home Alone" house in Winnetka, Illinois, is for sale for a cool $5.25 million (house prices where we live are so ridiculous that we saw that and thought, "hmm, not bad"). Here's a @Flipboard Storyboard about filming locations around the world, from "Star Wars" to "Father Ted." Tell us in the comments what you think is the most iconic film or TV setting of all time.

@lukem hahaha, I gave the original 4. A movie has to at least be fun, if it’s fun and good, that’s awesome. This one was just fun.

Just saw The Fall Guy and while it's Yet Another Ryan Gosling gimmicky movie, I'm a sucker for narrator movies and movies about making a movie, so I ended up enjoying it. Is it good though? Eh...

hypolite,

Also the little French spoken in this movie was terrible. Not just the pronunciation, which is expected from English-speaking actors, but the script itself was coming straight from a literal translation. Even Google Translate would have fared better.

Time for a bad science sci-fi movie!

Curling up with my knitting to watch Atlas.

Love watching an action flick starring an older woman. Now I want a movie with all of them together, saving the world.

Happy birthday to the great Peter Cushing, who was born on this day in 1913. I'm sure a lot of my lifelong love of came from late night viewings of many Hammer films with Peter and his good friend Christopher Lee, probably at an age when I was too young for them but didn't care, because I loved them.
