Switching up the color palette for Stickyfoot, trying to make things more cohesive. Starting to look really sharp, I think!

10 Things You Probably Didn’t Know You Could do With Nano Editor

OK, you probably do know at least one or two of these, but I’ve added the auto backup, line numbers, mouse support, and scroll bar to an alias for every time I start up nano.

See https://itsfoss.com/nano-tips-tricks/

@danie10

Not a huge fan, as I find that #Vim
is usually much faster for me, but I do use it in a pinch here and there, although I alias nano to #pico ;)

On #NetBSD, at least at #SDF, nano is still the default install from the U of Washington contribs (not pico).

The other half of that equation is #pine (alpine). When running #mutt, I do use nano over that of #vi for authoring my emails.

Thanks for sharing those #ProTip's Danie :)

I think, for me, much like EDLIN, it's pretty much always been a matter of knowing that it was the default editor available in every incarnation of and since, ... I dunno, ... 4.2BSD or so?

Perhaps I should say vi, and in DOS I don't really recall when EDIT.COM supplanted , but do feel free to checkout my friend's more modern in the link above. h/t to @dheadshot for creating a POSIX interpretation of that classic utility from the days when disk drives talked to you and diskettes shimmied...

Also, These memes are some of the funnest elbows to the ribs of the person sitting next to you we can all enjoy together... unless, unless, Oh my gawd am I on Drugs?

Here's another one for folks to add to their collections, for foshizzles and giggles, of course, and we all can haz ! 🍔

Kindest regards, and thank you for some of the very best cookbook style , 's, and introspectives for the UNIX / Linux / FOSS world on the Internet :)

Getting closer to finishing the rewrite of the Pallets website, with a new design and up-to-date information. Got a burst of energy when I found Pico CSS, was procrastinating for ages not wanting to deal with CSS frameworks. With Pico you write basic HTML and it all Just Works. https://picocss.com/

@pauleveritt @davidism I believe that in many cases, writing semantic and classless HTML is good for the web and increases its accessibility. 🚀
In fact, we have just updated the Python Pescara 🐬 group landing page to Pico v2 ✨

@paulox@fosstodon.org avatar

@pauleveritt @davidism I'm glad you agree with my statement. 😀
Although we are working on a version based on Pelican, at the moment the Python Pescara landing page is a simple static HTML file that you can find on GitHub 👇

What's the easiest camera module to interface to the #raspberrypi #pico that you can get access to the image from #micropython or #circuitpython with?
the #usefulsensors #tinycodereader is great for normal qrcodes but working on decoding rMQRs and usefulsensors said they have no plans for a new rMQR decoding module or different firmware to do that so going to need to roll my own solution

Pico CSS v2 has been released! 🎉

A minimalist and lightweight starter kit that prioritizes semantic syntax, making every HTML element responsive and elegant by default. ✨

Played a little rogue560 (https://icegoat9.itch.io/rogue560) tonight - actually ran great via Firefox on my S21.

rogue560 was made by @icegoat and it's pretty wild. Made for TweetJam 7 in 2021, it is a pico-8 game in just two tweets (560 characters) of code!

Here's their description of it:

Explore randomly-generated dungeons trying to get the highest score/health, or reach the deepest level

The game is decidedly unfair in that it can randomly generate unbeatable levels that will end your run (you can always refresh and start over), but using challenging diagonal moves (hit two arrow keys at ~exactly the same time) can get you out of many tight spots.

Nice review of the by @biglesp over at Tom’s Hardware. (It’s a shame the Pimoroni folks don’t seem to have a Fediverse presence, unless I’ve missed it). PicoVision is a lot of fun, easy to get started coding for, but lots of capabilities that can be explored with more low-level code. https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/pimoroni-picovision

Grabbed the bundle during last month's sale.

Just got to play it a few days ago and finished Shadowking yesterday.

Figured I'd give Outbreak a go tonight and got to the chopper but since I was almost invincible, I figured I'd just stay around the chopper for a while and just rake in the chits.

Got a bit too greedy it would seem :D

I made a breakout board/soldering jig/ header jig for Raspberry Pi Pico.

https://www.printables.com/model/623098-parametric-breakout-board-for-raspberry-pi-pico

It was really easy because someone else did the heavy lifting of designing the model. I just had to tweak a few parameters to make it work for a different board. That's why I'm a fan of OpenScad.
