Not posting too much but
a #cat#shelter in Belgium needs some help to survive : 39 #disabled, unsuitable for adoption (blind, missing limbs, missing eye) needs support.
Any help will be useful.
The owner is also willing to take a second remote IT job (on top of his regular one) in coding pr DB admin to save this shelter.
Nuff, said, if you can and are willing to help, here is the link
The Supreme Court said Fri it will consider whether state & local ofcls can punish homeless individuals for camping & sleeping in public spaces when #shelter beds are unavailable.
The justices will review a lower court decision that declared it #unconstitutional to enforce anti-camping #laws against homeless individuals when they have nowhere else to sleep.
#Shelter's research suggests that over half of #workers in rental properties are only one payday away from falling into arrears & risking eviction....

Ohmy. Because of #Signal being unable to properly support multiple accounts on one (multi-sim) device, I am running a clone of the signal app using an "App Cloner" tool for Android. Works nicely, I just got two different signal installs, one private, one work.
Recently someone introduced me to the tool #Shelterhttps://github.com/PeterCxy/Shelter which let's one use the "Work Profile" ability on Android and allows one to clone apps (or install them there again) inside it. Nice tool, like it, clear separation of areas, and one click can turn off the whole work profile. And shelter makes this easy to use.
Except. With #signal. No idea why, or how, but as soon as I transfer my account (using a backup) into the Work profile signal - it stops working. For everyone I am connected with. That is, groups simply do not let ANYONE send or receive anything. Messages from me to anyone do not pass and vice versa do not pass.
Transfer account back to the other clone - and hey, it all works again. Repeatable.
The City of Ottawa has launched "Engage Ottawa", soliciting opinions from the public about affordable housing. I'm not optimistic that they'll pay attention to the feedback, but I thought I'd contribute anyway.
my wife needs to work with the instagram app for work (yes, I know, but it is that way). So we installed it in a work profile on her android phone (to keep the data in the normal profile safe from the app). The phone is running #GrapheneOS perfectly fine.
Unfortunately, she cannot access the pictures on the normal profile from the instagram app. File shuttle is enabled in shelter and works in the files app, but apparently not from the instagram app. At least we find no way to access the files.
Has anyone done this before? Any hints, tips or tricks?
@deborahh@chad Adequate shelter is a basic human right according to the 1948 UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which Canada ratified (not only that; the first draft was written in Montréal, FFS). So Canada has as much of an obligation to provide shelter as it does to protect freedom of expression or allow habeas corpus.
And yet, 76 years later, many (most?) Canadian voters still think of shelter as a luxury, or at best, a discretionary act of charity.
