Half destroyed building in the industrial area of Yerevan, only the facade is standing in solitary waiting to be integrated into an ugly building. From the walks in non-functional industrial area.
Am reading “Palestinian Walks. Notes on a vanishing landscape” by Raja Shehadeh at the moment (a Christmas present). Through the deceptively simple device of 7 walks taken over 27 years near his home town Ramallah, he offers a way into SO much (devastating) history. Also love it as it combines #PoliticalEcology with #HistoricalEcology - just my thing. A beautiful book, really recommend it. #Gaza#Palestine#Bookstodon#Walks
From my Sunday walk.
Akhnabat yew forest, a specially protected natural area, one of the 26 reserves of Armenia. It was established in 1959, it has an area of 25 hectares. Here grow 300-400-year-old yew trees with a height of 25 m and a trunk diameter of 70-90 cm. The contrast of red leaves and green trees was amazing, love these trees. #nature#forest#yew#wanderlust#Armenia#artist#walks#sunday#sundaywalk#nofilter
The reservoir was built in 1962-1967, and for its construction, two villages, Kasakh and Zovuni, were relocated to the vicinity of Yerevan. #mountains#lake#walks#reservoir#wanderlust
You may remember that I asked if you would send me recordings of what you noticed, so that I could make a very special 100th episode of my podcast with your voices? Well you did, and thank you so much, because it is absolutely beautiful! 🧡 Here it is: https://freshairproduction.co.uk/podcast/stopping-to-notice/
