Today's photo is from January 2011 and shows how chilly it had been. The ice on Yeadon Tarn was about 12cm (4.5") thick and reminded me of when I lived on a boat on the Caledonian Canal in Inverness and had to break the ice in the mornings in the boatyard!

Today's random photo is Wild Garlic. This grows in abundance around here and my garden is full of it just now. The flowers smell of garlic too, and you can eat all of the plant. Yum.

This #PostOffice scandal in the UK. I'm a retired DBA, I had access to everything in every database under my control.

I'm puzzled that anyone in IT would believe that "there's no way Fujitsu staff can access the individual post office accounts; or change values".

This is complete garbage! Any DBA looking after the database can do what they like with the data, and if they wished, cover their tracks too!

It beggars belief that anyone would believe otherwise!

What one thing did you do in life that you now wonder how things would have turned out if you did the opposite?

When I was 17, in 1977, I turned down a job offer, from Tico Martini, to build F1 racing cars. Tico is my late step father's cousin, and well known in the racing world. I had only just started a job as a Honda motorbike mechanic and felt it would have been disloyal to jump ship.

I often wonder where I'd be now had i taken the job.

Good morning fellow Mastos and hello Wednesday. Did you sleep well? MrsD, Wesley and my good self are going to visit one of MrsDs walking friends who has just had a hip replacement. We might even head off afterwards to Hebden Bridge for coffee, cake (of course!) and a wander by the canal.

Good morning fellow Mastos and hello to a soggy Saturday. Yesterday's trip to York didn't go as planned. MrsD's friend's husband got a phone call from the Doctors, just as they arrived in York, regarding his dad. They had to go back to Blackpool. 😟

MrsD, Wesley and I had an enjoyable day in York by ourselves and a nice lunch. Its a lot muddy by the river after the floods.

Mind you, around Leeds the roads have been well gritted, mostly. The pavements not even touched. As usual 😟. Around here they are about a couple of centimeters deep in uneven ice. Dangerous!
