I don't know if any of you remember when I said I was going to make a #knit kit box to keep for when I was having a low energy day? On a good day, I did the cast-on so it would be ready?

Anyway, I did this and it worked brilliantly. No fuss with feeling overwhelmed or project indecision. I'm almost done the pair of socks!

So.

None of you thought it might be important to tell me that ferns have sperm that swim??? I just had to find all this out on my own?

And, (apparently, & no one thought to bring this up either🙄) fern plants are only one form... they have this 'other form' (tiny, ephemeral, difficult to find in the wild) alternates generations-- Fern spores don't grow into ferns! (WHAT) they grow into 'gemetophytes' (WHAT) THEN you get a fern.

Feel like I've uncovered a massive scandal.

I want to know why rain skirts aren't a thing. Pull on a rain jacket, and then just throw a wrap-around nylon skirt on over your pants or whatever. For just walking the dogs, urban stuff, nothing hardcore.

Like a Macabi skirt but oversized for going over clothes, and with rain-proof nylon. Is this not a thing because it's hard to seal stitching to be water-resistant?

(I see some online but they're badly designed - any sewists attempt this?)

I did the thing that strikes fear in the heart of Knitters the world over. ;)

I cut the sweater into a cardigan.

First I needle felted the cut line, then snip snip!

Next step is to pick up stitches for the button bands.

Well, a self-limit on #Dredge comes from using the heavy Steam Deck. It's not a game I play well in my lap, and holding it closer to my eyes means my wrists hurt, so I'm forced to take breaks.

I'm getting Dan the new OLED, which is much lighter, for his bday. He says we'll swap, even tho I feel kinda bad about that? Like, the new one should be his, but yeah.
