It should be astonishing that after Trump publicly solicited a $1 billion bribe from Big Energy, Big Journalism just shrugged and moved on.

It is not astonishing.

Nothing more batshit than (like , for example) popping up notifications that you could 'Host a webinar!' and making you click "Maybe Later" instead of "The fuck is this?!".

I need a response dialogue like "I never want to hear a single thing out of you ever again. I am forced to use this godawful software for my job. Do not limit my response to polite noncommittal declination. If I could burn your binary I would."

I continue to be fascinated by the fact that when Jack Dorsey looks back at his time at Twitter, his only regret is that it was technically possible for him to ban the Nazis so people nagged him to do so.

So now his ideal social network is one where the moderators can’t ban Nazis.

@carnage4life Must be great to be totally insulated from the tiniest consequences of all of your decisions. Utterly incapable of reflection and learning. Completely surrounded by people who give you endless respect, praise, and never criticism. Absolutely not a recipe for uncaring idealogues, convinced they're right in all respects.

...At 2:14 p.m., Trump walks in, entourage in tow.

@GottaLaff NFL - Her ability to tell the story, and the effect it would have had on the campaign, is important regardless of its veracity. She literally does not need to have been honest for this story becoming public to be a campaign impacting event, and for this scheme to therefore be a campaign contribution.

Anyone got recommendations for a quality 'mid-high range' recliner? I need something to relax/read/chill with cats in the den.

La-Z-Boy prices spook me BUT if they're worth it and last for decades (and hopefully aren't targets for the cats) it'd probably be worth it

Looking at stuff like this, probably the high end of my range https://www.la-z-boy.com/p/living-room-recliners-rocking-recliners/astor-rocking-recliner/_/R-010519

depereo,

@SirTapTap Whatever you pick up, make sure it's a model the cats can't squeeze into the mechanism of!

Or make sure to staple some extra fabric over any access they might have. Don't want any kitties caught in the (quite powerful) leverage.

Am lamenting anew the refusal by Biden to support Supreme Court reform when Democrats controlled the House and Senate and could have expanded the Court, neutralizing the power of demonstrably corrupt Justice Thomas and the justices appointed after Mitch McConnell illegitimately refused to advance Obama’s nominee to the seat that went eventually to Gorsuch. Elected Democrats must take foundational measures if we are to preserve any sort of meaningful democracy in America. #LawFedi 1/

depereo,

@shoq 'more guns in schools' is such an insane way to think about reducing deaths and harms.

Lawmakers don't allow open carry in the legislature. They know it doesn't make them safe. They don't ask their speechwriters to bring an AK to the writing workshop. They're not tasking their spouses with armed guard duties.

Any teacher who actually did this would just prove they shouldn't be around kids.
