Z. B. Niedersachsen." (Moment! Rechtsstaatliches Handeln zweitrangig? Beim Staat?!?)
A particular first-world UI annoyance is context menus which do not appear at once but gradually fill with entries, moving around entries which had already appeared. #teams i am looking at you
We're being force-migrated from Zoom to Teams (to save some Schekels) which was a bit of a wrench at first but I've found a few things which I prefer in Teams:
Dedicated "raise hand" vs "react" buttons on the toolbar
Visualised sequencing for people who raised their hand so you can go through in order
I do always struggle to find the "mute" button for some reason (seems to be common with lots of people) and the video quality is pretty poor compared to Zoom but I can live with it.
@tdp_org were you also force migrated to the electron app or do you actually use #teams in a browser? for me, using it in #firefox does not work because i refuse to accept 3rd party cookies. separate calls in a private window work for some minutes and then get increadibly slow and erratic. so much so that i start to suspect this might even be on purpose, because given that #jitsi and #bigbluebutton work flawlessly for hours i see no good reason to not make trams work in ff…
I was about to do something important and time-sensitive but then I got a #Teams notification despite both Teams and notifications being off and now I'm just wandering the dusty streets of the internet with a vague sense of loss
Now I have #mastodon, #email and #matrix in #emacs. Funny how communications on computers are easier to focus on without all the intense animations, colors and ads. I feel much more relaxed and ready to work when it's all texted based.
In the past, I've used Matrix/element, and I can't say how many times better it worked. About 1.5 years ago, we decided migrate to MS 365 and I find it a pita.
Does anybody have a clue about the status of Teams<->Matrix integration? I remember, there were numerous attempts to do this using a bridge/puppet, but at least AFAIK that didn't work too well.
What is the status of this? Any insights appreciated 😎
I've been very pleased with the live, online courses at CoachesRising. Now there's a new one!
Transforming Teams — a team coaching program that will take you right to the essence of how humans relate, giving you a powerful system to alchemize team tensions into innovation and effectiveness.
What I love about being remote and/or being on a geographically-distributed team is when someone sets up a (usually) #MSTeams meeting and fails to ensure that the meeting has a dial-in number. It's like, "cool: I can hear the call and I can see the video presentation, but, since my laptop's microphone (and camera) is disabled, I can't actually provide spoken responses to questions directed at me".
Two meetings in a row where the call was set up with no dial-in.
Also, why the fuck does #Teams not offer the option to turn off the freaking gallery?? I so don't need to see the other people on the call if they ain't talking. And, if you must show call participants, how about showing only those that enabled sharing from their cameras. It provides zero value and sucks up useful screen realestate showing me participants' initials especially if they aren't talking.
Every time I use Teams, I'm reminded of why Microsoft is able to include it free with their O365 accounts.
The discussions with Manuel Schnabel and André Kraus have shown: We need better #communication between #TYPO3#teams/#initiatives. E.g. plans could overlap, experiences exchanged, etc. Want to #coordinate the hard facts regularly in an annual/semi-annual online meeting? #t3cmd
EDIT: fixed (for now) - thanks to everyone for all the help!
I guess I'll put this out there since now I've met @guffo who's having the same issue.
My work laptop is Windows 10 and after Leap Day this year, my Teams shows meetings a day ahead for some reason on the calendar, but with the correct date on the meeting itself. Nearly missed a meeting Monday, but luckily since the day itself is correct on the meeting, it notified me and I noticed it. All the meetings still just show on the wrong day - a full day ahead.
Tried restarting Teams, the whole machine, nothing. Can find NOTHING about it online anywhere. Any ideas to fix are welcome, or anyone else dealing with this, or anyone else who wants to talk about how shitty Teams is. 😂
Update for the day-switching in Teams after Leap Day -- I'm seeing more reports of this online now, and for me, the issue appears to only be for the 'Week' view in Teams. The 'Day' and 'Work Week' views have the days correct. So I switched to 'Work Week' and I'm good now, I think?
In two weeks, join TPGi at the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference on Tuesday, March 19 when Elizabeth Whitaker and Rachel Buchanan will provide an overview of the Teams interface and discuss important features for hosting meetings, collaborating on projects, and sharing information with the powerful JAWS screen reader.
