Big tech platforms now make a big turn from 'free to use' to 'pay for everything now'

And even if you don't pay directly on those platforms you will pay with your personal data

API's are now becoming a paid feature so many devs drop support for them since it's not doable anymore

I totally understand that things are need to be paid for at the end of the day but it also feels super toxic to see that "free-to-use" is almost become a no-go for them

Why so extreme.. 🙄

When Twitter became a million follower piece of crap in 2008 or so the costs exploded, and so they needed venture capital. They should have stayed small and sustainble, rather than becoming the bloated piecesof crap they became.

@ct_bergstrom The beauty of the Wealthy is that the want to hoard money, so they remove product features, that are the reason for using a product, to maximise profit. They're financial vampires. They kill the cash cow. They want the money for the butter, and the butter, as the French expression goes. Musk behaves like a cost cutting accountant, rather than a visionary. He behaves like a con artist like Drumpf.

    @ngmi There are two types of people. Those that dump Twitter, before it destroys their work flow, and those that wait until it's destroyed, to jump. I lept quite fast, and I'm happy I did. I am happy that every stupid move Muskrat makes leaves me indifferent. I'm glad I left when I did.

    @ngmi Thank Duck. I think the worst person to be, right now, is Yaccarino. She's been given control of a sinking ship. I read that Musk had to throttle requests, and probably by association Tweetdeck because he wasn't paying his bills so the cloud companies Twitter relies on, are throttling Twitter's requests. Musk could have spent 15 billion USD on Twitter, and used the spare 39 billion to keep it running smoothly. He overpaid, and then destroyed Twitter.

    @Free_Press I saw a squirrel doing this. Luckily I noticed that there was something strange on the road. After I passed on the bike it squirrelled itself away. I'm happy I didn't cycle over it.

    @Free_Press At first I thought "is it a dead animal, is it ill, like you did, and then I saw that it ran away. I'm happy, almost a year later, to read that this is normal behaviour.
    With heat waves I'd be tempted to spend time in forests, where it's cooler, near streams.

    @georgetakei For me, this is evidence that Meta and Twitter are run by fascists. Ordinary people do not need to prove themselves by fighting. Words and actions are enough. This shows how Venture Capital Social Media is the lowest common denominator.
