I have to wonder, do the people idly wondering why the US can't shoot down Russian drones/missiles directly in Ukraine the way they are shooting down Iranian drones/missiles in Israel WANT a nuclear war, or are they just too ignorant of the one ironclad rule of modern warfare (and too lazy to research it in the least) to know any better?

There are two going on three generations that never experienced the Cold War and mostly aren't a student of that part of history.

Nuclear weaponry is a Hollywood and television thing to them, not a very real thing with soldiers ready to launch them at a moments' notice 24/7/365.

I've noticed something over the years. Every time a Democrat is in office, the roads get fixed, electric lines get replaced, the roads get plowed nicer in the winter. Every time a Republican is in office, the roads go to shit and they don't get plowed too good.

Thinking about buying one of these wee scopes in the future, my Hitachi scope from the 80s is starting to get a little on the weird side and it's definitely on the old and heavy side. I'll never need Tek or even Rigol for the playing around and experimenting I like to do and I like that it's battery-operated. I love the size and the touchscreen feature too.

Anybody know if BNC connectors are rain-resistant over a reasonable length of time? By reasonable length of time I don't mean years and years, maybe a few weeks or a few months max.

It seems to me that the silicone rubber gasket inside would provide at least some water resistance. Not N connector levels, but not a UHF connector that's got nothing whatsoever either.

Just trying to cover all the bases, home plate, AND the in and outfield here.

Trying out LibreELEC on my very old netbook. Can't play some movies without the video lagging on my Raspberry Pi 3B+. Maybe the additional 200MHz on the processor and the whopping 400 MHz graphics processor will fix it.

Somebody I know recently got a Samsung tablet. While I won't buy Samsung products, when I looked at the price of it and other tablets, I was extremely impressed with how cheap they've gotten.

I may get one along with my 705 for portable digi work, and to take more advantage of the built-in wifi and bluetooth. It'd certainly be a lot cheaper and lighter than buying a small laptop, which is what I was gonna do.

I'm trying to decide between 16, 18, and 20 gauge (or higher) wiring for portable wire antennas. Please note the "portable"!

Can't really look at wire in store because I live in the middle of nowhere and have to order everything hardware-related from McMaster-Carr, either the local stores don't have something or they do and it's overpriced crap. Or you get there and the item has been stolen right out of the package.

Which gauge should I go for?

I hate our culture of war worship so much.

I wish I could go without guns, unfortunately I'm forced to have them because there are lots and lots of people here in the US who also have guns and want to use them to kill LGBT people. I'm trans and I'm not gonna be able to hide for much longer, it hurts too much.

If there ever was a mass gun buyback like what was done in Australia to reduce the number of guns in circulation there, these hateful people would never participate.

Trump knocked us back to the 70's. I'm trying to find out about as many LGBT people from that time frame and before and read as much as I can about them to take notes of how they did it.

I'm agnostic but I think it's gonna take some form of divine intervention here. I have a lot of hope in the younger generations growing up now, but the death throes of hatred are gonna cause a lot more damage before they're old enough to get to work and start fixing things.
