Microsoft's "Recall" is similar to "TimeSnapper", that Atli and I have been developing and distributing for the past 17 years or so.

I'm fascinated by the reaction that Microsoft get, compared to what we receive at TimeSnapper.

People are naturally curious about performance impacts, and hope to keep all data local. But when "we" (TimeSnapper) say the data stays on your machine, customers just believe us.

Microsoft, meanwhile, is emphatically not trusted.

They earned that reputation.

By the way, we still need someone to tell us we are wrong.

We are building satellites in the middle of Tokyo, and would like someone to improve our test automation. Requires GitHub and/or embedded knowledge and a talent for finding corner cases in other people's code.

Mostly remote (no mandatory office days), but with a residency requirement (Kanto area) and occasional hands-on work in the cleanroom.

Found him! Every time I see this album in a second-hand store, if no one else has circled Wally yet, then I circle Wally with a sharpie and write “found him!!” in a sort of fun “Bugs Bunny” style hand-writing font. Most of the records around town have it now.

We went to the National Ironworks Museum yesterday, it was pretty cool. This sculpture(?) of Kim Jong Un on a rocket was particularly good, I thought. 😂

A Pixel Art Redraw featuring a cat sitting close to some chalk drawings. One of the chalk drawings seems to be the cat with a happy expression. The cat is not happy, but is instead staring with a serious expression at the viewer instead... Is this the best you can do, human?

During lunch a friend mentioned that you can just supply a HTTP URL to vim on the command line and it would use curl to download that resource and allow you to edit the content. I jokingly asked whether if you enter :w it would then issue a HTTP POST back to the origin which is of course ridiculous.

@conorh vim foo.txt.gz transparently decompresses the file, then recompresses on save. vim bar.tar.gz or vim baz.zip shows a list of the files in the archive, so you can choose which ones to edit tranparently.

Does anyone have an idea why Bing refuses to index my site, while other search engines like Google or Yandex don't have any issues doing so?
Bing webmaster tools tell me only vague general reasons why it wouldn't work, and none of them are valid.
