Just for clarity - I have 2 books by that guy on my shelf; like I said, it's hard to know in ADVANCE that someone is going to zip screaming down the fascist slip and slide because they've been "cancelled" for having abhorrent positions on other ppl's existence - see also, Matt Taibbi, who used to be one of my fave writers before he completely lost the plot.

I will say this tho, even when he's supposedly saying GOOD things, Finkelstein works pretty hard to FRAME those good things in a language and viewpoint that wouldn't be all that out of place on Breitbart. Even in the piece you're all sharing right now, he's actively weaponizing his support for Palestine to push a winger agenda, and Jacobin is happily allowing that to stand - see below:

If you are worried about the 2 babies that died on Oct 7th and not the hundreds (likely more) that have died in Gaza since, it suggests that you value some babies more than others.

They’re all babies. People killing babies are bad people. Hamas are bad people. IDF personnel killing babies are also bad people. Politicians on both sides deciding to have their footsoldiers kill babies are bad fucking people.

That part of this is not complex at all.

@peter I'm a little surprised. He could have said something like, "I get it. No one likes seeing families being bombed." But he didn't even acknowledge the reasons his base is upset. He just condemned us for having feelings and questions. Again, HIS BASE is upset. Most of his voters are upset. He is throwing this election.
