Lol.
I'm building a tool that summarizes what what a company does based on their website.

Most common type of answer:

"The company specializes in web development and optimization, as suggested by the presence of JavaScript related to rendering the webpage efficiently and measuring performance metrics like render time and cacheability. They also seem to be utilizing tools like ResizeObserver and PerformanceObserver to enhance user experience and optimize page loading."

@berkes Being unfriendly towards AI might be a feature now that people have recognized the extent of AI's copyright violations.

Unplanned features FTW.

I just took delivery of a laptop that came with 11.

After going through setup I felt abused and violated.

Then, doing anything on this top of the range machine was slow, and despite my answering 'privacy' to every option, it appears that every click in Edge is being sent back to Microsoft, slowing the fastest machine I've ever used.

Having installed Ubuntu 24 side by side makes this even more apparent. (I still want for testing).

I pity those who have to use it.

Get out!

@happyborg Windows is still the most used client OS. Or maybe second after Android.

I don't think very many people are aware of alternatives.

Fact: Hamas has already agreed to a ceasefire deal that would free all hostages.

Fact: Israel's reply to Hamas agreement to free all hostages was to invade and murder even more people, while expelling all the refugees (over a million) to inhabitable areas without water, electricity or food.

Hamas kidnapped the hostages. If they had not been hostages they would still be alive.

@RL_Dane @slembcke

Would it have worked better if they were looking for kilo road?

I have memorized the NATO phonetic alphabet a few times, but I don’t use it enough to keep it front of mind. Usually I look it up after I fail to remember a letter, then forget it again before the next time I need it.

I love the trend of journalists starting up their own independent subscription newsletters / websites. I don't love that they're doing it on Substack.

railmeat,

I agree this is a great trend. I think it will be hard to make a living that way.

Substack will end up being a problem. I think https://ghost.org is a better option.
