@shaknais ...but they are a company, they can make it as bad or as good as they wish, if artists don't like it they can switch to other platforms (apple music, tidal etc.) or start self publishing, there is a reason this doesn't happen i think
Had a seizure in the checkout. Someone, with all the kindest intentions in the world, called the police to do a Wellness Check.
Please... Please! Don't do this. It disappoints, but the cops are not your friends. A Wellness Check isn't to see if you need help or a carer. It isn't to give you anything. It is to take it away.
@shaknais@paco I hope you are ok and didn’t get hurt. It’s such a strange notion to me to call the police. An ambulance or doctor yes, but not the police.
Fuuuck. Some of my books have been added to GitHub's AI system, because I backed up the code I used to generate them in the private repositories, whilst keeping my copyright and not using any open source license.
@shaknais time to mention @Codeberg i guess :) sustainable git-hosting done by a democratically organized german NGO that exists exclusively for this purpose. https://codeberg.org . happy migrating folks.
"... one of the astronauts who went to the moon said one of the best parts about landing on the moon was that he could actually take a shit. Being in zero gravity fucks with your digestive system so he said he hadnt taken a proper shit for the whole ride there."
@JamesPadraicR@shaknais They really were floating around in tin cans. It was basically, "okay, they can survive for the mission with that, we're done".
ahem. After a little more than seven and a half years, I can walk unaided, without a limp. Last time that lasted a week. The time before that... Was fifteen years ago?
"... go into the arts. I'm not kidding. The arts are not a way to make a living. They are a very human way of making life more bearable. Practicing an art, no matter how well or badly, is a way to make your soul grow, for heaven's sake. Sing in the shower. Dance to the radio. Tell stories. Write a poem to a friend, even a lousy poem. Do it as well as you possible can. You will get an enormous reward. You will have created something." - Kurt Vonnegut
Taylor has lived her entire life as a boy. Hiding away as a serving boy at a local inn, but when a pirate comes stumbling into her life, he brings adventure and horror with him. Whether she wants it or not.
