We are in the process of developing a mobile application in 2024 🎉 :peertube:

Before starting the technical development, we felt it was important to understand the expectations of people who are watching videos.

We're looking for a few people to take part in a short 30 minutes video conference during the week of 15-19 January to find out more about your needs and opinions regarding the adaptation of PeerTube as a mobile application.

Send us a direct message if you're interested!

@peertube Will you create a app for , &

Also, another suggestion I have (which is unrelated) is if @Framasoft could offer “managed hosting services,” with the proceeds going to the foundation.

This could help expand the service to others, encourage other hosting companies to embrace Peertube (as they will see the value in it), & introduce more people to the .

Similar to what is doing.

    @peertube @Mrfunkedude @vkc check this out, I'm sure they would love to hear from creators on what you would like to see from a mobile app.

    @peertube @yunohost will the episodes be downloaded using torrent / web torrent?

    or just ?

    @lil5 @yunohost In its first version the application will only download videos using HTTP. We'll check in the future if we can add P2P to the mobile player.

    We plan to publish iOS and Android versions of the application, but we're not sure the App Store will accept it.

    Torrent clients are in conflict with section 5.2.3 of the App Store Review Guidelines (Audio/Video Downloading: Apps should not facilitate illegal file sharing), so there can't be any apps in the store which would be able to download torrents.

    @peertube my wish is that the app will also run on Android TV 🙏🏼

    DavidGoldfield,

    @peertube This is an excellent opportunity for the accessibility community to ensure that accessibility is baked into the design and development process. Not to mention the importance of alpha testing to ensure that the app is fully accessible prior to launch.

    @DavidGoldfield Do you know people that would accept to test the application in its alpha test to check if it is accessible?
