We've been on Mastodon for 9 months now!

Time for a re- to the new folks here:
We are a trustworthy, nonprofit source, sharing the knowledge of academic experts on many topics.

Our team of editors identifies researchers studying topics that are timely, important or just plain interesting, and helps them write understandably for the public.

We give away all this for free.

Please consider hosting your own instance. has been problematic to the point that users on have already had your accounts unfollowed at least twice in the past few months. I cannot even simply refollow your accounts right now, some sort of limitation your current instance is imposing on users on my instance. By the way, please accept my follow request.

Uwe_B,

@TheConversationUS Unfortunately, US is not absolutely trustworthy. In the context of "trustworthy" means "not absolute" but it is not. There are always again articles reflecting the lies people there have been with more than the . sometimes occur then. And as always, there is great resistance to viewing traditional as such. This is particularly bad when it comes to such as , or .

KarunaX,

@TheConversationUS I love your science and tech - but the political POV you support sucks. So I no longer subscribe.

@TheConversationUS y’all. I’m tired. Why does every article about libraries and librarians have a headline like this? Libraries aren’t just places for books. Librarians aren’t just book nerds. You know, we have terminal degrees and everything. Why stereotype us like this to make your point?

mitexleo,

@TheConversationUS Love to what you're doing ! I think Google Tag Manger and Analytics should be removed from The Conversation website. I don't want them to know what I'm reading, Thanks !

@mitexleo Thank you for the feedback. I’m sure you know how to keep Google from tracking you.

mitexleo,

@TheConversationUS Umm ... Google is already being blocked by my firewall. But I'm worried about general people. Matomo and Plausible both are GDPR complaint analytics tool, use them instead of Google Analytics.

I trust "The Conversation" not Google.

admin,

Agree with Mitexlo.

Also -- thanks for mentioning Matomo and Plausible. Now I know what to suggest to all the medical information websites still using these Google tools.
