The only complaint I have about #MastodonSocial is the character limit. It's not like I post a lot of long threads, but sometimes it'd be nice to have a little more space 🤷🏻♀️
I don't necessarily think multiple posts are better than one longer post on the same topic.
If you’re on mastodon.social, I would highly recommend that you switch to a different server that protects its people instead of exposing them to a well-known bad actor like Facebook/Meta via Threads.
And remember that Mastodon is not the fediverse. The fediverse is much more than just Mastodon and definitely more so than mastodon.social and Mastodon gGmbH.

Looks like the New Interface for #MastodonSocial#DotSocial doesn't run in #IceCat on my (now-fixed after nearly 3 months) PC! The error is Uncaught TypeError: Object.hasOwn is not a function, which is presumably because IceCat doesn't use the latest JS (it's something like a couple of years behind FF), but that shouldn't be a reason to break on it! I hope this new interface isn't rolled out to here too! #MastoDev@Gargron
Anyone else annoyed by the changes to mute and block that have occured on Mastodon?
I found a 6 hour mute useful when someone start filling my timeline with excessive posts. Just a little timeout for them so I can see what else other people are posting.
During the war in Ukraine and even more so in the midst of the genocide of Palestinians in Gaza, the sometimes blatantly biased management of mastodon.social demonstrated beyond any doubt that big instances destroy the Fediverse
A recent example is the limiting of the account @LALegault

With all the changes to the Mastodon interface lately, I wonder if my home server might consider bumping the word count to 1,000?
Now the word counter is being hidden by default when composing a post unless one keeps scrolling down to check it, I'm finding myself bumping up against the word limit more.
I know, I can and do thread but still one has to assemble one's thoughts in these short bite-size pieces that have to stand on their own as well. Almost no one boosts threads, just single posts.
new #mastodon ui at least on #mastodonsocial. I think I like it, the little yellow details to make missing Alt text and CWs draw attention seem good.
The rest of the changes seem minor but "clean". I had to search for the CW button but symbols only is usually for the best, can be a localization nightmare otherwise
