@chiefbongo@techducks Die von Shelly bekommen regelmäßig Updates und ich bin sehr zufrieden, aber es gibt auch freie Firmware für viele Modelle: #Tasmota
@chiefbongo@techducks IKEA Zigbee Steckdosen kriegen immer Mal wieder Software-Updates.
@mattferrell Let Sean know since he referenced a human ear growing on a rat I was 1) immediately reminded of a character Ear Man from the David Cronenberg film “Crimes of the Future” (I did not see it, just saw stills from the movie), and 2) also immediately kept mentally seeing Sean as Ear Man trying to do the podcast. Very distracting, I kept giggling like an 11 year old. Otherwise, great podcast.
Hey, #HoosierMast, I’d like to get some solar panels installed on my roof, and I’m intimidated because I know there’s a lot of scammy companies out there. Anyone have any advice, on installers or literally anything else #solar?
@ai6yr In Idaho our regressive legislature lets the state’s largest electric utility write the rules. Personal solar holds very little financial incentive anymore. There are still large installations going up and maybe that’s a bigger win on balance.
@petep44 Yes, the retrogressive legislatures are a big problem. I am disappointed that places like Arizona and Hawaii have such poor adoption, when they could make a substantial transition with just non-protective solar power acceptance.
In 2023, #solar PV and wind comprised about 80% of global generation capacity additions (99% in Australia). Compelling market-based evidence solar PV and #wind are the best options for new generation capacity https://buff.ly/3JDUdMH
“At current growth rates (20% per annum), solar will pass fossil gas in 2024 and coal in 2025. Current growth rates also suggest that solar will approach 9 TW in 2031, when there will be more solar generation capacity than everything else combined.
Global nuclear capacity and annual nuclear generation have been static for the past dozen years. Nuclear failed in the global energy marketplace.”
@thepoliticalcat I’ve noticed this, maybe you have also? The “nuclear will save us” proponents go silent when followed with “Ok in your backyard then?”
Now that the longer days are here, solar production at the house has gone up a lot, compared to winter, even with one panel down, due to a broken microinverter. I’m glad Enphase and our local solar installer are providing good service and warranty repair. Thanks, Highpoint Solar. #Enphase#solar#solarpower#homesolar
