Happy Birthday to the Japanese voices of the characters of both Gabi Braun on Attack on Titan and Uraraka Ochaco on My Hero Academia, Voice Actress Ayane Sakura.
Hi all, I've just migrated from @irfan to this account on sakurajima.social. I'll also be attempting to migrate my main account @irfan to this one in the coming days, but I'm expecting nothing on that front since it's failed so far.
I've moved to multiple servers throughout my time on the #Fediverse in pursuit for a "permanent" instance to be on, and I've never had the chance to write an #intro post lol so this will be my first.
I'm a 26 year old (in Nov 2024) (gfdi) programmer obsessed with languages such as #Python and #Shell, frameworks like #Django, and #CloudNative shenanigans like #Docker, #Kubernetes, and #Helm. I'm also obsessed with #FOSS and #Linux, and promoting them to be more viable each day for the masses so everyone could have not just free but secure access to daily computing.
I'll be using this account to mostly document my passions through mini reviews or rants. I have another picture-based account over on #Pixelfed, @irfan. All images I have posted and will be posting will include descriptive/alt text, including my pfp and banner. I also have some bots for posting local (to me, #Malaysia) #news and other relevant data cos the #Mastodon API is just so fun to play with.
I finished watching all the Attack on Titan episodes...That was long and grim.
However, the overall theme of humanity starting conflicts based on fear...Feels too damn real! A great anime and one I'm glad to have watched. As it's a provocative work, one that had my eyes affixed to the screen.
Seeing @irfan talk about AoT songs remind me of all the really funny videos made to Guren no Yumiya (AoT 1st op) because someone on idk 4ch or 8ch said you cannot just slap any video to the song. My favs:
I wish I had took foreign language studies more seriously when I was in high school. I took Mandarin bcos my dad forced me to and in the 5 years of studying, I honestly only used that class to finish my other homeworks :')
If I had picked Japanese like I originally wanted to it'd be a lot easier for me to fulfill my dream of possibly migrating there at some point, and if I had picked German I might've been able to sing along to #AttackOnTitan soundtracks a lot better :akko_woozy:
The final, FINAL episode of #AttackOnTitan was AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHperfectionHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
-Animation was stellar, it was absolutely worth the wait in that regard
-The ending was pretty sad, the post-credits scene was a gut punch
-having had some Opinions on this work on the past uhhh I think the message might be ‘fascism is inevitable’ but Idk if the second part of that message is ‘…so we should fight against it so that the people of the future need not’ or if it’s ‘…and fighting it is only futile’
-I think maybe Founder Ymir gets let off a little easy and I don’t know how much I like the sudden Stockholm Syndrome aspect of her character. Like we all do things for the sake of love but I think it maybe was a bit much in this case
-Dune prescience is always a good time (especially when you become Time Hitler or something amirite?)
-uhhh all in all I really enjoyed this anime in general from an animation standpoint tho, and it did set up some really interesting mysteries with some good payoffs
-I do like that humanity was able to come together for a time but…um…80% is a bit much? With current events especially it’s pretty depressing and it’s a good call to action…but I don’t think I like the implication that it’s inevitable
-I wonder what it’s like to have some rando become the person in charge and then suddenly things are bad
Hey friends! It is once again that time: I'm putting together this weekend's Installer and want to know everything you're into right now. All the apps/movies/shows/books/podcasts/plant species/raisin alternatives, everything. What are you digging right now?
