My first EV was a VW e-Golf. Got it in 2019. Now we have three EVs in the family. I got the Polestar 2, the first car to have @Vivaldi available. We also have an Audi e-Tron.

Most of the time we charge at home. It is easiest and most of the time we do not drive far enough to have to charge somewhere else. When we do, there are fast chargers.

The cost of charging is a lot less than using gasoline.

The range of these cars is not as large as many of the newer models, but it does not matter, most of the time.

If you have never tried an EV, maybe next time you should give it a try. IMHO it is a much better experience.

Hier j'ai évité un accident en utilisant une généralisation sur les conducteurs. D'habitude j'aurais dit que c'est un procès d'intention mais c'est malheureusement efficace.

Bref, j'avais anticipé que le conducteur de l' n'allait pas mettre son clignotant, et ceci deux fois d'affilée.

After yesterday’s powerful RS 6, today we’re looking at another slightly exotic off-shoot of the Audi A6 Avant estate in the form of the Quattro Allroad version, seen here at the UK press launch of the last-generation model in Devon and Cornwall in 2012. Whereas the RS 6 uses its Quattro all-wheel drive system for the original purpose of improving on-road handling, the Allroad is a crossover/softroader, designed to cope with (occasional) contact with mud.

Yes, we are talking a lot about @Vivaldi in cars. We are very proud of Vivaldi being available in cars from , , , and -Benz, with , , and coming soon, as well as more vehicles from the VW group and a lot more. It is a big deal!

At the same time, what allows us to build a great browser for cars is the effort we put into our desktop and mobile browsers in general. We are upping our efforts there as well!

Yesterday I featured the Talbot Sunbeam Lotus, which won the World Rally Championship in 1981, the year Michèle Mouton became the first woman to win a race in that series. She was driving an Audi Quattro. The Quattro wasn’t the first car to demonstrate the on-road - as opposed to off-road - advantages of four-wheel drive but it was the most influential. I captured this one at the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm in 2012.

I get that some car drivers hate all cyclists. They shout it from the rooftops at every opportunity. I don't think those same vocal motorists realise the contempt in which many other road users hold them. I cycle on roads. 95% of car drivers are absolutely grand. That 5% of utter dickhead drivers who are either oblivious or actively dangerous, are a menace to everyone, including to themselves. They're the ones who end up wrapped around lamp posts or upside down in fields. Absolute spuds.

Meh: It won't happen until 2025

At this point, Volvo/Polestar and BMW have overtaken Volkswagen/Porsche/Audi on my list of brands/marques to consider, at least when it comes to European companies

Another toot reminded me that the S5 I bought a while ago was also offered in a configuration with a manual gearbox and adaptive cruise control - so it'd keep pace with the car in front of you, but you'd be responsible for shifting before it redlined or stalled...
