Sleep pattern is still off, but not unexpected.
Arrived home from work about 4:00pm, drank coffee & ate a snack. Then I napped.... for 3 hours hard!
Tucked Arianna into bed at 10:00pm with her meds & ice-pack.
Started on "Learning to Program with Haiku", going to bed after midnight.
Woke up at 6:00am to assist Arianna, then had coffee. She and my Dragon-in-Law Eva have left for a PT appointment.
I caught up on my Bible reading plan.
About to head to work.

"The #unborn" are a convenient group of people to advocate for. (1/4)

yeri,
@yeri@superuser.one avatar

They are, in short, the perfect people to love if you want to claim you love #Jesus but actually dislike people who breathe.

#Prisoners? #Immigrants? The #sick? The #poor? #Widows? #Orphans? All the groups that are specifically mentioned in the #Bible? They all get thrown under the bus for the unborn.

It will always blow my mind that Fundies use the Bible to explain why women should be submissive uneducated stay at home baby machines, while the Bible's own description of the "Perfect" woman is a Land owning female boss who is praised by her husband and her city for her contributions.

@RickiTarr Just so. The is a threat to many established churches; that's why the Catholic church used to burn people at the stake for translating it into languages laypeople could understand, and why fundamentalist pastors today still keep a tight rein on how their flocks are allowed to interpret it.

We wouldn't want anyone to take Rabbi Jesus' objections to public prayer and religious elites, or his support for radical social justice TOO literally, now, would we? 😕

He quoted 17th century Dutch Petrus Van Mastricht. Ya know, good ole Van Mastricht. He quoted a 16th century – because older is closer to God, maybe – & quoted the , thou shalt not kill.

He quoted Thomas Aquinas & John Calvin & one of Roy Moore’s old pals at the Foundation for Law in Montgomery. He wrote of the “wrath of God.”

In the end, if not one of the 2 peoples is rather completely anihilated, an unthinkable outcome, the 1947 solution of the , developed by great thinkers, is IMO the only way to a lasting solution that will not necessarily entail terrorist attacks on a daily basis.

My wife is FINALLY seeing how terrible the YouVersion app is!

This whole "celebrity culture" we have in the world is a huge problem that hardly no one is paying attention to.

I couldn't care less about your upcoming album, single, book, or study, or the fact that you are from a popular mega church. Why are we not doing Godly things FOR GOD?!

Absolutely drives me insane.

By the way, Texas governor Greg Abbott is a pro-life Catholic.

Last week, I led the bible study for our mid-week discipleship group which has been very popular with young adults in our church. There are a lot of new people who are new Christiains—it's great.

I was shocked to see that only myself and one other person had physical bibles. Everyone else (around 30 people) was reading the Bible on their phone!

There are advantages to a digital format, especially the ability to easily switch between different versions. The main disadvantage that I see is that it's more difficult for the reader to understand the context of what they're reading. The text becomes a database that you query and divorced from the chapters before and after. You don't get the sense of a book belonging to a particular section or genre grouping.

Am I a fuddy-duddy? Does it matter if people read from physical bibles or not?
