Argh - my middle mouse button is dying. Can't #CAD without that. Still works if I press extra firmly, but the finger fatigue is almost immediate, with the dozens of clicks per minute CAD sometimes requires.
I replaced the switch on my last mouse that did the same, but ordering a new switch, plus shipping will be not much less than a new mouse.
Mit einer 3D-Maus kann man CAD-Programme intuitiv steuern. Wie man sich so ein Gerät auch selbst bauen und in Fusion 360 einbinden kann, zeigt dieses Projekt.
The new #QGIS :qgis: changelog video is up: tons of exciting features in different areas and for a variety of use cases, including editing and #cad like construction, #pointcloud, #python :python: console, processing toolbox, print layouts 🗺, and more
This was so satisfying to design. I got to use a whole pile of skills that I've been learning over the years. This assembly prints beautifully without supports, parts snap fit together snugly, things flex that should flex. I'm happy. #3dprinting#cad#Fusion360
My project in progress is a box to securely stow my air compressor, and maybe muffle the noise a bit, plus keep dust, bugs and dirt out of the air intake.
I did a #Blender model to decide on a structure last year, but finally just getting around to building the thing.
All scrap wood! it's rewarding to re-use bits of stuff I have laying around. Even the piano hinge is an old bit of junk I salvaged.
I've never gotten to ay with one. What are you using to convert your #CAD files into #Gcode? Thamks for your suggestions in advance, they are super excited to start using the #CNC for #robot building.
I'm currently getting by with a mixture of Design Spark Mechanical, FreeCAD, and OpenSCAD for prototyping/editing files, I'd love to find a good alternative that isn't from a predatory company like Autodesk
How to visualize the curves of a cathedral before the #CAD ?
With sand bags and ropes!
This is a model of the Sagrada Familia, made by Gaudí, in the museum in the crypt of the church.

Come visualizzare le curve di una cattedrale prima del CAD?
Con sacchi di sabbia e cordini!
Questo è un modello della Sagrada Familia, fatto da Gaudí, conservato nel museo nella cripta della chiesa.
If you need to open and edit #DXF or a #DWG files with #Linux you can't do without #LibreCAD, an #opensource#2D#CAD made by volunteers who continue to improve this application, there have been various problems over the years but development has now resumed with constant updates
Some samples of the CAD work I have done over the years.
I was reflecting on the fact that I got roughly 5000 files I have made since 2004.
I am trying to find a fresh outlook and a clearer direction with my work, the recession in the UK is biting hard and a burnout is not far off. Thankfully we got a long weekend so I can try to think about a battle plan for the months ahead. #jewelleryDesigner#MastoArt#digital#CAD#rendering#3Design#Rhino#Vray#commissionsOpen
Realised I'd neglected to post about my @FreeCAD book on here. "FreeCAD for Makers" is out and available for free download now via Raspberry Pi Press. Huge thanks to the Hackspace magazine crew for getting it together and the mighty @yorik for the foreword! #opensource#CAD#CAM#FEM#Makers DL here https://t.co/e0Sk0I49Td
What 3d modeling software do you recommend in the year 2023?
