Is there a website that lists all phones and all AOSP/ROMs that are compatible with them, so you don't have to hunt around in the wikis of every single ROM to check if it's compatible with your phone?

Bin gerade am Überlegen ob ich mein jüngstes #Smartphone (#Oneplus 8) auch mit #LineageOS bestücken soll. Leider habe ich keine andere Wahl ein alternatives #CustomROM außer LineageOS zu installieren, da zb #GrapheneOS oder #CalyxOS das Gerät nicht unterstützen. Der momentane Zustand mit dem hauseigenen Betriebssystem #OxygenOS von Oneplus ist nicht mehr tragbar. Viele nutzlose (Spy)Apps von Oneplus lassen sich nicht deinstallieren, einige wenige nur deaktivieren. Sehr unbefriedigend das ganze.

@parzzix I’m currently using an iPhone due to iMessage being the only way I could communicate with my family. Tried to show them switching to #Signal would be a good option but they weren’t convinced.
But I would switch back to android running #lineageos or a Pixel with #calyxos or #grapheneos in a heartbeat if I could.
Aller, zou, retour à #eOS, puisque je n'ai pas trouvé comment faire fonctionner le GPS avec l'écran verrouillé sous #CalyxOS. Et c'est pas faute qu'il ne me plaisait pas, mais à un moment donné, faut savoir reconnaitre ses besoins principaux.
Ich lese auf GNU/Linux.ch nun schon eine ganze Weile mit großer Begeisterung mit. Bei den Artikeln rund um das Smartphone, fehlte mir bisher immer ein Android Custom-Rom: CalyxOS. Das wollte ich nun ändern, indem ich einen eignen Artikel dazu schreibe.
Alors, suite (et fin ?) de mes tests : CalyxOS, proche de GrapheneOS, j'aime beaucoup. Surprise, le GPS accroche à l'allumage, comme sur /e/OS, et bien avant GrapheneOS. Par contre, quand l'écran de verrouillage est activé, le GPS décroche quasiment aussitôt là où les deux autres continuent de fonctionner. Faut que je creuse, mais c'est franchement embêtant, car en général mon téléphone est dans ma poche. Je ne le sors que pour prendre des notes. A suivre.

Après 10 jours d'utilisation de GrapheneOS, je suis content de ce système. Seul hic, le GPS, qui une fois démarré fonctionne très bien, mais... mais s'il ne voit aucun satellite pendant un moment se désynchronise, et il lui faut plusieurs minutes pour se resynchroniser. Donc, la seule solution avant son utilisation, c'est le démarrer plusieurs minutes (environ 5, si j'ai bien compté) avant qu'il puisse fonctionner correctement.
Je vais installer #CalyxOS pour voir si mieux.
Alors, bonne surprise : avec #CalyxOS, la position est trouvée tout de suite ! Youhou ! bon, j'aime pas du tout tout le vert sur mon écran, mais si le GPS fonctionne mieux, contrairement à #GrapheneOS. Un lien peut-être avec microG ?

Ich kann subjektiv berichten, dass mein Pixel 8 unter #CalyxOS (auch mein klarer Favorit) mit microg etc. sich sehr gut schlägt. Ich nutze allerdings tarifbedingt kein 5G - was laut einigen Berichten einen Unterschied bzgl. Akkulaufzeit macht. Heute bisher fast 3,5h SOT und Akku aktuell bei 62%. Wenn du Fragen hast, dann beantworte ich die gerne.

I must be a block head but for the life of me I can't figure this out. I have a Pixel 4 phone I use for development testing. It's still on Google Fi. I bought it directly from Google. It's been off for several months. I'm trying to get the latest OS update and it says that the latest version of Android is 13 not 14. That's fine. But it says the version I have installed, from over a year ago, is the latest version of Android 13. Am I missing something? Forcing it to go out for the update refresh is returning that I have the latest version. Did Google Drop support for a 4 year old phone getting security updates? #Android#Google
@hankg I think one thing we can look at in the future especially with devices like a Pixel are a custom ROMs from GrapheneOS, CalyxOS, Lineage etc that can breathe new live into some devices.

Are there any #GoogleWallet alternatives for NFC payments. I've never used it but thought about trying it, however it doesn't work with alternative OS's like #GrapheneOS and #CalyxOS.

lol! I have as many versions as I can get as plain text files, but yeah.
I didn't use it for a long time because it's (inexcusably) chock-full of trackers.
But now I put the DuckDuckGo browser with its tracking protection on my phone's work profile (#CalyxOS lets you create your own work profile to help isolate some apps), so I have it running there, and also with battery permissions restricted and background network connectivity disabled.
@publicvoit@kernpanik Ich kenne #calyxos nicht, finde #grapheneos aber Oberhaupt nicht restriktiv. Bei mir habe ich keine Einschränkungen, #fdroid und #aurorastore drauf. Auf mribem alten S7 von Samsung habe ich /e/OS drauf. Mag ich auch.
Es gibt Aussagen, dass das #Pixel4a weiter von GrapheneOs unterstützt und auf #android14 gehoben werden soll. Das wäre klasse, ich hoffe, dass es so kommt.
