@davidbisset one thing i found that can convince a lot of developers to stop doing those one liners "because its fewer vars and faster" is if the language can stop being compiled at an assembly stage.
the compilers of most languages will end up making ::temp# variables to assign the results of each call to, ergo being the same as if you had declared them yourself.
Code drunk, debug sober. Bah! Just fixed three bugs after a pint of Tundra.
(This is in no way meant to be role model behaviour. There just happens to be a lovely pub by the seashore in Bray where you can sit outside and itās a nice distraction in the evenings when the weather is good and I donāt feel Iāve done enough in the day* and need a change of scene.)
It doesnāt help that I never think Iāve done enough in the day. š¤·āāļø
@JohannaMakesGames Haha, indeed. (Or is it worse if youāre ok the day after?) :)
Yeah, I know. And I think Iām way better than I was. Iāve convinced myself that some day you do a little, some days more, and the most important thing is to keep making progress. Harder when sometimes it feels like absolutely no one on the planet gives a single damn what youāre making but, hey, itās the road Iāve chosen apparently. Better than being applauded from all sides for mediocrity, thatās for sure :)
I did a write up of setting up Webmentions on my site! I had mentioned it earlier, but there was one stumbling block that took me longer to figure out.
Webmentions let me get notified when people share my posts, respond to my comments on other sites, etc., and lets me use my site for a lot of the kinds of interactions I'd otherwise have to do on social media.
I don't have enough time to keep up with all my projects: #3dprinting, #coding, #ClassQuiz, #smarthome, #school, #gaming and #tabletennis. I'd really appreciate having a helping hand regarding @classquiz who can take on some small(ish) issues I've been aware of for months, but at the time, I am focused on other projects (also in the regard of coding): There's @homeassistant and #FediPrint.
So, if anyone would be interested, I am here to help and would really appreciate some help for ClassQuiz. It has also gotten way more popular than I've ever expected: I am averaging at ~7k unique visitors per month on classquiz.de alone. There are people everywhere contacting me (okay not everywhere, but I'd say it's 5 per week on average). I mean, all are friendly, but that all takes time. But I also can't just turn them down. I just can't, as it's also a great feeling helping those people.
Now, I wanted to ask: Anyone out there interested in assisting me with #ClassQuiz? Preferrably in bug fixes, dependency updates, etc or just in assisting with communication?
I wish I could stay on the GOOD line only, but my coworkers decided that we are crossing the EVIL line.
Maybe I am the only one who doesn't own a wide screen display, and maybe I am the only one using font-size 18.
@rochacbruno if you are using Black than you can add an extra comma after the last parameter and it's going to force Black to split the line into multiple lines.
Also changing Black's line width setting sounds crazy to me. Why Would anyone do this?
