Last week I started #FalloutNewVegas and I was thinking I’d put it down with the Next Gen update coming out for #Fallout4, but it appears the update is actually kind of underwhelming on PC. I have never played New Vegas and had only ever played 4 for a few hours. I installed some of Viva New Vegas mods (mostly for Bug Fixes and some Quality of Life features) on my PC and #SteamDeck and I am enjoying it quite a bit.
Ok, moving on to slightly lighter topics, today is also #Fallout4 Next-Gen patch day!
And if I recall correctly, the game should get verified for #SteamDeck - this whole verification thing is always a puzzle to me, it could mean everything.
Pretty wild that Bethesda was like "NAH, you don't need to adjust any graphical settings for #Fallout4 on Steam Deck."
(Tip: you can add "SteamDeck=0 %command%" to the launch settings to reinstate the launcher that has said graphics settings, but still. HUGE foul on the play.)
:vaultboy: Holy moly, a 14GB NextGen Update 9 years after release! Happy to see so much love for the Fallout series 🙏
If you are a new Vault Dweller coming from the tv show - Fallout 4 is chronologically the last game in the series but has the most accessible and modern gameplay. The games don't have to be played in order and can be played on their own, I'd start with #Fallout4 :vaultboy:
Time to hop on Fallout 76 for awhile and do some things. Fasnacht Day is on that list, though I did already get the glowing mask that I wanted, there's no reason I couldn't get more!😜
Also re-installed Fallout 4 because I think another settlement needs my help! :kek:
Heh looking up "Common surnames in Massachusetts" because I lack imagination and found the Forebears site... which is obviously a British site or British-centric site since it INSISTS that people named "Anderson" in Massachusetts obviously got their name from "The Son of Andrew sometimes called Anders" and not, you know, that they were Swedish Immigrants...
I swear #Fallout4 respects the players time and attention less than any major title in the last ten years. The game goes out of its way in several ways to just underscore how little it understands these things.
Going back to my earlier criticism: there is a third of four different games in Fallout 4 and those thirds don't play nicely together.
#Fallout4 has been a guilty pleasure of mine lately. I say guilty pleasure because I’ve already spent over 100 hours or so back when it came out, and it’s definitely got its flaws, but I can’t deny it’s so fun. 😄
Since the show reignited the #Fallout fan in me, I’ve not been able to get enough of New Vegas, and the lore in general. I’ve been wanting to play the games again but have been craving the more modern-feeling games. I gave 76 a try, and I sort of liked it, but it’s not for me. 😅
