Just had an amazing call with @devnull of #nodebb on behalf of #flarum. His progress on their #federation implementation is already quite impressive. We've decided to keep in touch, share and collaborate on supported FEPs and regularly touch ground in the future.

I am very excited to pave the way for #forum software on the #fediverse, and it'll only make things better when Flarum joins up too.

Dopo la morte del Miiverso, il pubblicare #schermate fu l’unico motivo per cui creai un #account Twitter come alternativa; funzionava ottimamente, ma dal 2020 circa hanno deprecato il frontend no-JS, e il servizio “#Condivisione di #Immagini#Nintendo3DS” (che era praticamente un proxy) è stato discontinuato. ⛏️
In realtà volevo pubblicare su Instagram dalla #console all’epoca, ma da quando Facebook lo acquisì, la #webapp è sempre stata fin troppo JavaScript-rich, nemmeno caricava sul browser #Nintendo. 💉
Suppongo che Facebook sia un’opzione, con la sua versione mbasic, che se va sui javafoni allora andrà anche sul 3DS, ma… è Facebook, lmao, ho detto tutto. 🗑️
Mastodon chiaramente non funziona, la #app usa JS troppo moderno (ammesso che il #sito d’istanza non fallisca a priori il caricamento, per via della cifratura HTTPS). Brutaldon in realtà dovrebbe andare, anni fa creai un post con quello, ma ricordo anche che poi il #server ha iniziato a dare problemi con la crittografia, e quindi se ancora non va dovrei ospitarmelo io. 🔐

Mi garberebbe #pubblicare direttamente sul #MicroBlog#WordPress, e dovrebbe tecnicamente funzionare; tuttavia, qui su #Altervista non riesco a fare login, perché la schermata di accesso locale non carica reCAPTCHA (non disattivabile) e quella globale (aa.altervista.org) non carica per (presumo) problemi di crittografia. E #frontend alternativi HTML già pronti non ne trovo, quindi se volessi, dovrei fare io un proxy. 🚪
Praticamente l’unica cosa che funziona resta la #SpaccBBS: e in effetti ha senso, mesi fa spesi qualche ora anche solo ad accertarmi che il #forum fosse utilizzabile da sistemi antichi (qui un thread che creai proprio dal #new3DS). Ma dovrei finire quel fantomatico plugin per ActivityPub, però, per non cantarmela e suonarmela lì sopra… 🫠
Have some kind of real-time interface. The chat-like style Spectrum.chat used was great for this (apart from Spectrum (source linked) being slow as hell).
Provide plenty of single sign-on. IndieAuth on by default could be a big help.
Have a cheap/free (at least sponsor open-source projects to be free), dead-simple way to host your own
Other nice-to-haves:
Fediverse support of some kind.
Integration with Discord (hell, using Discord's forums, and bi-directional! It's possible with Discord's API, last I checked).

E infatti, è stato un mio #errore mesi fa nel configurare i #permessi per i #forum dedicati agli utenti, credo. Dovrei aver sistemato andando in ACP > Forums > Group forum permissions > Newly registered users > All forums > Forum permissions e settando il ruolo predefinito lì a Newly Registered User Access. 🤓️
Poi, ho controllato la lista utenti… c’erano pochi apparenti #spammer che si sono registrati addirittura mesi fa, abbastanza nelle ultime settimane, e una caterva negli ultimi giorni. In totale ~70, li ho fatti sparire tutti, sperando di non aver cancellato utenti reali nel frattempo (cosa che normalmente non penserei perché aiutoo nessuno si caga il mio forum, ma chissà se dopo il mio casino delle ultime settimane si è registrata gente che non ha mai neanche scritto… dovranno ricreare l’account, e magari io dovrei fare un post di avviso). 💀️
Poi, mi è venuta la #curiosità di vedere cosa avessero scritto gli spammer, ma a quanto pare purgando gli #utenti è sparito proprio tutto… fortunatamente, dare a #GoogleLens quella mezza schermata che ho inviato prima ci aiuta ad avere un’idea… #monnezza! 💩️

Ich habe mal einen Test gestartet. Über das Konto @kuketzforum werden neue Themen, die im Forum erstellt werden, automatisch verlinkt. Es wird nur das initiale Thema verlinkt, keine Antworten darauf. Praktisch eine Art RSS-Feed, der die neuen Beiträge vom Forum im Fediverse verlinkt.

There's a #wordpress plugin for it and I've been thinking of adding a proper #Forum to https://sirtaptap.com but the plugin hasn't been updated in 9 months and one of their 2 'see it in action' example sites no longer uses it (or has comments at all)
I do like that it's got a self-hosting thing, and BBPress...I just didn't like the look of but it can probably be adjusted.
