Annulation d’une conférence à Paris: Judith Butler dit avoir été «réduite au silence»
Le 6 décembre 2023, une conférence pour la paix au Proche-Orient organisée par plusieurs organisations avait été annulée par la #MairieDeParis. Dans un texte publié par Mediapart, la philosophe #JudithButler, qui n’a pu prendre la parole ce soir-là, revient sur cet épisode.

While it is understandable that both sides see themselves as victims of genocidal acts in the current unprecedented wave of violence, when the term “genocide” is used in Western academia and public debates to describe the Israeli attack on Gaza, it is highly policed and is quickly associated with antisemitism. Considering that the Gaza Strip has lost almost one percent of its inhabitants while Israeli leaders use explicit annihilatory language, language policing surrounding genocide has become fatal for Palestinians."

While finally getting all my blog posts published on my newly updated website, I realized most of the followers I now have probably didn't read those first posts. It's amazing to reflect on how much the community I'm a part of here has grown since I began publishing these in February! And heck, doing some light proofreading and editing as I uploaded the piece, I realize my voice as a writer has grown too!
