After loving The Final Empire ( Book 1), I am really struggling with The Well of Ascension. About halfway through and it feels like literally nothing has happened yet. This is the same problem I had when I tried reading Sanderson’s Stormlight Archive a few years ago. The first book was excellent and the second was enough of a drag that I bailed on the series.

It’s weird though because this kind of epic fantasy is normally my bag (I love The Wheel of Time for gods sake!)

Anyone got any recommendations for fantasy novels? I was a big fan of Percy Jackson when I was younger and more recently read Mistborn and really liked it, and am interested in finding something similar.

Hey Folks! This morning we have a mixed bag of topics including the current state of my Vaal Absolution Necromancer in , finishing the second book of the trilogy, and playing around with the controller dock thingy.

What's everyone these days? I am a fan of SciFi/Fantasy with a side order of murder mystery. One of the best I have read in a long time in the genre, is the Sun Eater series by Christopher Ruocchio. Absolutely superb!! I highly recommend it.

Currently I am working my way through the Krondor cycle by Raymond Feist. Pretty decent, if a bit repetitive. Always looking for recommendations :)

A brief to my fellows…

Hello there! I've gone by many names over the years, but here I shall be Tavix.

I consider myself to be a self-effacing introvert with a passion for fantasy, reading, science and technology. A tinkerer at heart with a penchant for video games.

By day, I diligently apply percussive maintenance to malfunctioning or otherwise uncooperative computers, servers and networks.

When at the mercy of my own whims, I find myself drawn to a quiet room with my wife for company.

I just finished the 4th book of era 2 The Lost Metal. And finally caught up on .

This book was great! And you want to talk about a lore dump, wow! So much cosmere information was in this book. A lot of the subtle stuff in his other books is starting to make more sense.

This book felt like a fast paced non-stop action story with great character development along the way. And a great, but emotional, ending.
