I first saw BLOB DYLAN graffiti when I visited Bushwick, Brooklyn, in January 2021. Despite being a life-long resident of Brooklyn, that was only the second time I had been to Bushwick. I did not see any more BLOB DYLAN's prior to May 26, 2024, when I crossed into Bushwick for the third time. I was on about mile 18 of what would end up being a 22.6 mile walk, but that did not stop me from documenting my first BLOB in more than three years.
(Note: I was not 100% sure whether this was in Bushwick or Ridgewood until I checked a map. Fortunately, I made note of the fact I found BLOB at the intersection of Wycoff and DeKalb Avenues.)
Where in New York City would a young person live who has two part-time jobs that don't pay particularly great, but who (for magical plot reasons) doesn't have to worry about healthcare expenses, appliances breaking, or other such stuff that poses a major financial risk for real-world (non-magical) people?
Small apartment, solvent parents who can help in a pinch, the character is, for lack of a better description, a liberal, intellectual, scientifically-minded young person (20s).
I've never set foot anywhere in the US, let alone New York, so I have no clue.
I came across this charming car with a cherry blossom design in the heart of Carroll Gardens in Brooklyn, New York CIty. The find was fitting since there were many cherry blossom trees in the area when I stumbled upon the car on April 23, 2024.
This week I'm wrapping up the audio of Let The Great World Spin by Colum McCann. This is the second audiobook in a row for me with truly raw depictions of people just scraping by and trying to make the best of their situation. Tillie's narration is heartbreaking. Next audio read needs to be something not so heavy.
Related: now I feel like I should watch "The Walk" starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt. (not a bad thing)

KERRY KING: 'I Lost 10 Pounds Not Even Trying'
In a new interview with Riff X's "Metal XS", SLAYER guitarist Kerry King, who relocated to New York City less than three years ago, spoke about how he is preparing for his upcoming tour with his solo band after not playing any shows since 2019.
“It’s, like, some people play Candy Crush on their phone. I play ‘Dinner Reservations,’ ” he said. “It’s just a way to pass the time.” Last year, he made eighty thousand dollars reselling reservations.
Here's my capture of Béla Fleck: Rhythm, Raga & Rhapsody from last night at Carnegie Hall. Nothing fancy, just another Pixel internal mic recording. Nevertheless a proper souvenir from one of the best nights of music ever.
Finally sorting through my millions of photos, here's a collection of ones I took at Nintendo Power's 20th anniversary party, in 2008, held in New York City, USA.
