Protesting Russia’s war against Ukraine - sometimes even just holding a blank sheet of paper - will get you arrested within seconds in Moscow, but 4 armed terrorists with automatic weapons can rampage through a mall, killing probably more than 100 people, causing a fire which even requires wildfire equipment to be deployed and then successfully “escape” in one of the world most heavily surveilled cities?
'in the #CAR there would be a bigger stake and it felt as if the presidency was quite comfortable with the #mercenaries who are already present because they have already built up relationship with them. In some ways symbiotic, but also parasitic. These are people who have already known the terrain, what it is that these leaders want. its lucrative on both sides. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/w3ct5hlb #Wagner#prighozin#TheGlobalJigsaw
the only thing #strelkov can be sure of, is that he is on the eve of collapse.
like his friend #prighozin
tic toc tic toc.
it's only a matter of time for him.
Zelensky speaks at the UN in New York City:
“I'm aware of attempts to make shady [peace] deals behind the scenes (…) ask Prigozhin how deals with Putin work out”
#Russians seem to have the worst luck at falling-- many of #Putin's enemies have fallen from high-rise windows, and now their planes are just falling from the sky.🤔🙄
#Prighozin was returning to #Russia from a trip to #Africa when the plane he is believed to have been aboard crashed outside of #Moscow. Ten people (including Prighozin) are confirmed dead.
Per @IntelCrab on #twitter, the #Kerch Strait bridge is experiencing greater than normal traffic for those crossing into #crimea. Vehicles are stalling and traffic is apparently backed up 8+ km, and water is being handed out.
Navalny’s response to Prigozhin’s rebellion (this shows the Putin regime’s lawless fragility, Russia is only secure w free elections) vs. Khodorkovsky’s response (Russians should rally to Prigozhin, he says true things about the war) says a lot about who’s the adult in the room.
@kevinrothrock
I think they both kinda suck, though to your point #Navalny less so. It seems to me #prighozin is on a path similar to #Khodorkovsky's: expelled by the regime under the pretense of corruption.
Belarusian president Lukashenko is the honest broker who stepped in and de-escalated the potential coup from Wagner boss Prighozin. He just wants peace.
The fact he also displays a Wagner sledgehammer in his presidential palace to show to visiting children is entirely coincidental and no cause for concern.
Wäre ich in #Prighozin|s Lage - also versehen mit von #Putin versprochener Straffreiheit - ich wäre schon längst auf dem Weg zu einer möglichst abgelegenen Karibikinsel.
Reports= #Wagner boss turns troops back from Moscow. Doesn’t make sense. #Putin ordered #Prighozin killed. How does he walk that back? How does P survive after this? Putin never forgives nor forgets #Russia
To which Garry Kasparov replied:
It's a mafia not a state & they will walk back or swallow anythg that's profitable. Infighting rarely is.This also exposes stupidity of saying Putin needs offramps or to save face in Ukraine. He's a dictator, can make up anything he wants
So, if I understand the reports covering Russia correctly, the gist is that 2 manbaby managers are arguing with each other over how to get the project done instead of questioning the legitimacy of the project altogether and targeting the CEO.
