I was having an ok day, until someone said I was being annoying. :sadness:
Feel free to mute me, unfollow, or block me if the way I conduct myself on here is not to your taste. I welcome gentle correction if I'm behaving in a way that's hurtful or inconsiderate, but I don't tolerate rudeness or requests that I alter my behavior just because someone doesn't like how often they see my posts. There are plenty of people who are annoying and you can just...ignore them.
EXACTLY! I follow a lot of people, a lot of people follow me #humblebrag (lol, not really, but it's a lot to me) and most people are just dipping in here and there throughout the day. If someone boosts their own post, it's because they want more people to see it. They're not doing it specifically to annoy the people who already saw it. Just keep scrollin', chief. It's a big world if you let it be.

Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria. For me, it’s the most painful part of ADHD. It invokes intense loneliness.
If you’re neurotypical, know that some folks are feeling things you don’t understand. Things that seem unreasonable and absurd. But they’re very real. Please be kind.
Record Store Day is coming up in April and we should get the releases list in February. However there is an RSD “suggestion box” here, which I’ve only just found out about… #RSD#RSD24#RecordStoreDay
That's actually a good cutting technique. I'm impressed. They kept the grooves from extending into the inner portion of the platter where the sound quality begins to degrade.
Are you an #ADHDer who often find yourself spiralling, convinced that friends or colleagues are disappointed in you? Chances are it’s Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria, a common aspect of #ADHD. It’s not easy, but stopping where you are, taking a deep breath and trying to reflect on past worries that proved false can break the spiral and help you take back control of your emotions. Acknowledge the power #RSD has to ruin your day and nip it in the bud!
Any #vinyl folks go out for BF Record Store Day this morning? If so, how did it go and what did you pick up? Only a couple of things that caught my eye on the list this time, so I think I'm going to wait them out and see if the prices go down.
@tonymasiello@vinylrecords I wanted the Jazz Dispensary album but I’m traveling from VT (my folks) to Miami today, so I will likely have to pay over face unless I can find an leftover online tomorrow at plaidroom or wherever. I am also interested in the Garcia/Grisman joint.
Being aware of this temporary hell that many of us visit from time to time can help to cope with it. It helps, too, to know that you are not alone in feeling this way sometimes, and that your feelings are lying to you when they tell you that you don't deserve to live.
I think we react this way because of trauma. I don't think it's intrinsic to our brain wiring. The world tells us so often that we are human garbage. You are not garbage. Every human life has value, including your own.
Was it stupidity, denial or just obtuseness that made me not recognize #executivedysfunction for 50 years? Not even an "oh, it's that feeling again where I'll do anything I can to avoid this simple 5m task, maybe listening to music will help".
Or #RSD. Prooooobably most people aren't assuming that everyone not currently actively praising them is deeply angry at them for unspecified reasons.
Anyway, talk to your doctor and try some medication. It's pretty great.
