THE FAR RIGHT ISN'T AFTER NEW VOTES

The far right knows the majority loathes it.

Its aim is to stop that majority from voting:

"Eliminate"

The far right is increasingly using this term against already marginalised groups, eg, transppl & homeless ppl

As on the 1930s' road to genocide, neo-Nazi oligarchs & their puppets are using yet another big lie to have us accept that these are "lives not worth living" & hence accept their murder

For Nazism, any life that dissents is a "life not worth living".

Remember, a small protest can become a critical mass for resistance. Think Thunberg.

Very little separates Barbara Lee, Adam Schiff, and Katie Porter on policy. So to forge a path to victory in the 2024 Senate race, they need to find a way to differentiate themselves before California’s primary. I have no idea which way this will go. I'm just sorry they can't all win.

It's wired in, it's blatant, and it's old news, but to me it remains pretty remarkable that the establishment press in the U.S. uses the term "conservative" to mean any action the extreme right wing favors.

The more extreme the act, the more "conservative" are the actors!

Thus, the Freedom Caucus in the House — the members of which are the most ready to let the U.S. default on its debt — are routinely described as the most conservative faction in the government.

What’s happening in Turkey today is not some exotic oddity. It’s a forewarning of exactly what can (and is) happening in the West.

Does this timeline seem familiar?

  1. Neoliberals get elected. They fill their coffers while alienating a whole swath of society who they deem too far beneath them to matter.

  2. A religious fundamentalist arises who speaks to those marginalised people, telling them they’ve been wronged (they have) and that he will make it right.

  3. He gets elected.

  4. He stays.

TruthSandwich,

@aral

What actually happened in America is not a “neoliberal” getting elected, but a Black man.

A Black man in the White House was all it took to fan the spark of fascism that was always there in Movement Conservatism, first as the Tea Partiers and then through Trump’s birtherist origins.

Obama was a liberal, not a neoliberal. The word actually has a meaning: Reagan was a neoliberal (as was Thatcher).

These days, though, the term has been turned into a content-free slur by the same far left that undermined the left and allowed the far right to gain power.

And Trump was by no means a religious fundamentalist, although he certainly had the support of the Christofascists. That’s because they’re a type of fascist more than they are a type of Christian.

So, on the whole, you’re almost completely wrong.

I don’t think the GOP can get rid of the right to vote for women quick enough.

Ohio here. Former Gov. John Kasich (R-OH) is an a-hole. I am glad MSNBC is getting a dose reality. They are quietly turning the channel into the 'before Trump, 2015' news channel. They are getting what they paid for. Certain blocks, like 4pm - 6pm are unwatchable. A case of GOP propaganda infestation disguised.

Given that psychopathy is incurable, we, alone, must prevent further harm.

Already, a few hundred psychopathic oligarchs have destroyed life as we have known it.

In terms of sheer numbers of victims, they're much more dangerous than all the world's past murderous dictators put together

They are not yet in total control of govt & military.

Republicans Around the Country Are Trying to Rob Democrats of the Right to Govern

It’s not just Ron DeSantis. The red-state war on blue cities is intensifying

In red states across the country, legislatures & governors are moving to:

curb the power of blue municipalities & other institutions that don’t fall in line;

erase the voting power of non-Republicans;

expel the people those communities elected;

& strip them of redress.

It is a war on local control

Good news! The bill that would initially have banned Chinese immigrants from owning property in Texas is now officially 100% dead, and not moving ahead.

This might be the end of the Texas battle, but it needs to be beaten back in each of the states where such bills are under discussion.
