Photo album + art journal of madness updated today!!! Finallyy!!
I'm so not taking PicsArt and Photoshop for granted anymore. If collages and edits are hard already on editing apps, doing it in real life with actual materials TO BE BOUGHT, repurposed or recycled is a lot harder. 😭😭😭😭😭
The #naturalist in me: Forest hike cancelled, too much storm.
The #gardener in me: Work cancelled at only 7 °C.
The #artist in me: Plants hand-dyed cotton gauze and colourful silk ribbons into compost soil to breed new colours. 🤭
The #lazybones in me: Rummages around in the studio to find ideas.
Fortunately, I am many! 😂

Okay, my art friends....I want to try my hand (again) at painting. I'd like to try painting in a kind of journal-type book that has blank pages and is suited for painting. I'm looking at Amazon and there are many.
I've heard that it's best for beginners to start with acrylic paint as it's more forgiving of mistakes (of which there will be many, I know). I'm not able to get out to take any classes as I'm caring for my elderly father and my time away from the house has to be limited. I'll certainly be looking at some YouTube videos for guidance.
I'd appreciate any suggestions for both paints and journal-type books to paint in, particularly for beginners. There is so much to choose from on Amazon!
Today’s journal page is the bike ride to the post office. I parked the bike, sent the postcards down the chute, then took a quick photo as a reference, and painted this at my desk while I listen to A Psalm for the Wild-Built (goodbye everyone, I’m leaving to become a tea monk….).
