Imagine how much money the people with #batteries are making now while they are getting paid to recharge AND getting paid to discharge them in California!
Last week's spectacular #OpenAI soap-opera hijacked the attention of millions of normal, productive people and nonsensually crammed them full of the fine details of the debate between #EffectiveAltruism (#doomers) and #EffectiveAccelerationism (AKA e/acc), a genuinely absurd debate that was allegedly at the center of the drama.
It's not necessary, they tell us, for everyone to change their lifestyles in order to fight climate change or promote climate justice. We don't have to stop eating meat, or buying fast fashion, or driving our huge SUVs to work every day. No one needs to stop flying around the world using their private jets, or taking luxury cruises on their million-dollar yachts.
Why? Because capitalism can solve the climate crisis! 👏
Really? Yes!!
(Well, no, not really. That's a fantasy being sold to us by billionaires who have no interest in real change.)
I know that I have a steep hill to climb in order to help Carbon Dioxide Removal #CDR recover from the damage the #FossilFools and just plain grifters have done to the reputation of Direct Air Capture #DAC.
I'm hoping that the tangible product #BioChar can help to convince people to reconsider DAC for CDR.

But I understand the frustration of doomers, I was one myself.
