The vote on the #RightToContraceptionAct was 51-39, falling short of the 60 votes needed to defeat a #filibuster & move forward. Republicans said the bill is unnecessary as the use of #BirthControl is protected under #SCOTUS precedent as if [#SupremeCourt precedent means anything anymore].
#Republicans Lisa #Murkowski of Alaska & #SusanCollins of Maine voted w/ #Democrats in support of the bill. #Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, switched his vote to “no” for procedural reasons so he could bring up the bill again at a later date.
I saw people out working for the #ElizabethWarren campaign in front of the grocery store today. A few years ago, I gave her $300 and voted for her. With her background and messaging, and coming from the #CFPB in particular, I hoped she would actually fight for Americans with no wealth and little income.
Instead, most of what she did for two years was call for Biden to subsidize the upper middle class (her donor base); and convince young, left-leaning people to hate #Biden

It is astonishing and heartbreaking to know that Bernie and Liz have both adamantly refused to call for a ceasefire in the Israel-Palestine conflict. To call for a ceasefire -- an end to bloodshed, a call for peace -- does NOT make you either pro-Israel or pro-Palestine or pro-IDF or pro-Hamas. It simply means that you do not want more war. Is that so fucking unreasonable? No more dead children. No more kids gunned down at music festivals. That such a simple declaration is beyond the purview of these two progressive titans suggests very strongly that our system is deeply broken.
