new foster #dog is so nervous. we're his fifth foster home. i really don't want to let him down. rosie (resident staffy) is so excited - too excited for jacno. :( #adoptDontShop#frenchBulldog#foster#dog#dogs
utterly sparked out after a day of barking & playing ball, punctuated by intermittent parkour from the window to the settee. this is why i never was a mum to humans: i'm far too lenient. #adoptDontShop#dogs#dog#mondog#foster#frenchy
Biden administration makes key modifications to #foster care system.
The proposal will make it easier for family members to receive financial benefits to care for children including grand parents. There will be extra rules for #LGBTQ youth including rejection for families who insist on conversion therapy.
"A kindhearted couple who won £100,000 on the Euromillions is planning to spend their winnings on fostering children.
Already parents to three children, the couple in their 40s will now convert their garage into extra bedrooms to begin fostering kids in need, a dream they’ve always shared.
Kathleen Reece admits she’s often moaned in the past about her husband Mark playing the Euromillions every week, believing they weren’t lucky enough to ever win.
And she thought Mark was playing a practical joke on her when he asked her to check the winning ticket while he went out to get some milk in North Worcestershire, England."
#cat people, I would like your advice, especially those who #foster kittens
A group who cares for stray cats have put out a call to find someone to care for newborn kittens for a few weeks. They were found in the trash, and the couple who rescued them and was taking care of them now has to work the same hours, and cannot maintain the feeding schedule. So, they are looking for someone to take care of them until they don't need to be fed that often.

@ShanonRose It was a foster dog who has since been adopted. I think he probably could've gotten in himself, he'd just never been in a cargo bike before. But with lower sides, I probably could've tempted him in with treats rather than having to pick him up.
So, I guess I'm an #anarchist now. It's not so much that my values have changed, though a few of them have. Mostly it's that the meanings of the old labels have changed.
For instance, in the 80s I was a #conservative because I believed in less government. Now I'm an anarchist for the same reason.
Former #Army. Mississippian. Recovering racist - of the "don't see color" variety - so I had never confronted the deeply buried racism I didn't realize was there, implanted by my upbringing and culture.
I love to #foster kittens and promote good pet health and training. I'm interested in landscaping with native plants. I think of things to write or sing all the time, so #SongIdea is one of my big hashtags.
Left Mississippi at 19 and was gone for over 30 years. So a lot of stuff has changed, but most stayed the same. A lot more people recognize me than I them, and I'm unhappy about that. Big gaps in my memory and bad at recognition.
I love rustic living so I spend a lot of time at deer camp. Interested in natural building techniques, reusing materials, #upcycling and #permaculture. Probably #solarpunk also.
This past week I’ve delved into the works of Claire Keegan (thanks for the recommendation @arratoon)
First I’ve read her 2010 novella “Foster”. Then I’ve watched the movie “The Quiet Girl” which was based on Foster. Loved both.
But then I read her 2021 novella “Small Things Like These” and fascinated! It’s one of the best things I’ve read recently. And apparently the movie is in the works.
I'm a #software#engineer living in #Saskatchewan, #Canada, the middle of the prairies. I've worked in countless domains, but find #python generally useful for many of them, and have been using it for nearly 30 years.
I'm a #HouseRabbit enthusiast and have had them for more than 20 years.
@Byronrabbit I'd wondered about the name Rousseau!
We also have George, Gracie's partner. He's not a lop, he's also huge, and he's friendly and extremely dumb. I wrote about him somewhere too.
I don't know if we had a theme for #rabbit names. Now at the rainbow bridge were Flapjack, Boomer, Lola, Applejack, and now we have Lena and George & Gracie.
I did pick a "Victorian-era names" theme for a #litter we fostered: Daphne, Pansy, Penelope, Humphrey, and Horace.
to get rid of her and replace her with the #humanhaystack. Who lied to them the way he lies to his employers, wives, mistresses and children. Then we all know what happend next!
OC My current fosters, and first true bottle babies, just shy of 5 weeks old
Kansas programs aren't helping every runaway foster kid, so they land in jail cells (www.kcur.org)
