Three years ago this week our tri-pawd black cat, T-Lo, came into our house. Her best friend is Henry, the orange cat. Both are feral rescues. #catsofmastodon#rescuecats#feralcats
These kitties joined the world 5 months ago — and joined our family a week ago. They've been entertaining us ever since. #caturday#CatsOfMastodon#RescueCats
MaCat's dental bill in September. One (!) tooth out. I mentioned back then, more bad teeth needed to go. And it's getting time for the procedure. It'll be appr. €450 to extract all teets on the right side. I really cannot afford it at the moment. If you can't contribute, maybe you can boost this post 🤞✨🐾 I will update asap. Over the New Year, I was looking after this furry foster, Yanko, while her true fosterer was travelling. Yan spent most of her life on the streets, but is very friendly and now lives a life of luxury down the road from me. She’s been suffering from some kidney issues, so I had to remember how to give subcutaneous fluids (these go just under the skin, so much easier than an IV). Yan was dutifully patient when I soaked her outside rather than inside 😅 #CatsOfMastodon#RescueCats
NEW: Avatar may look like he recently joined #TaylorSwift on the cover of Time magazine, but this purebred ragdoll #cat came to us last week as a stray with a broken hip. We tracked down his owners thanks to a microchip, but they were unfortunately not able to reclaim him due to their own challenging life circumstances 1/
Avatar needs what’s called a femoral head ostectomy (FHO) to repair his hip, and he’s expected to undergo surgery this week. After that, he’ll need a couple weeks to recover, as well as some physical therapy before he’ll regain full function of the leg 2/
Avatar’s surgery and related care are expected to cost $5,000. Says Director Mike Keiley, “Like most #animal welfare organizations, it’s been a long year for us. We’ve helped thousands of animals in need, which is really wonderful, but it puts a strain on our resources.” 3/
