I see (currently secretary) has said the era of the 'peace dividend' is over & we need to spend more on defence given the current international climate.

I'm not goitre to get into whether this is the right or wrong analysis & approach... what I want to question is: 'peace dividend'?

After a decade & half of , an engineered crisis in the public sector & , with the crisis & stagnated economic development.... what peace dividend, was that?

In the UK (in Govt. & in the private sector) too often the amateur (or generalist) is appointed.

In Govt. we have the example of who in the last year has had five different cabinet posts... whatever his knowledge & skills they can't have fit all five jobs.

In Sharon White's lack of retail experience looks to have ended her stint at JLP

once said we had enough of ;

Its yet another but of misdirection - right now we need experts more than ever!

In a functioning democracy he’d have been kicked out of Parliament for being deceitful.

In the Conservative Party lying and dishonesty are rewarded with jobs way above competency.

You had enough of this bullshit yet?

Q. is the latest 'surge' in prices a further short period of volatility or the shift back to higher prices driven by storage & issues in the sector?

Its always difficult reading short-term changes (especially across the last couple of month of volatile prices), but equally if prices are about to head up may be looking at (another) UTurn on support in the Autumn.

Time & prices will tell.
