Let me tell you about a juicy #history #scandal!

Feb 2014: A #papyrus containing words from #Ancient #Greek poet #Sappho is discovered - supposedly.

The papyrologist who found it makes contradicting statements.

It was found in the binding of a #mummy - did he destroy an #artefact for another?

Oh actually, it was a book binding!

Huh?

The #scholar is soon found to have illegally sold another ancient text.

He has been suspended. The 'new Sappho' is dead.

Alas.

The bus went by one of the many cemeteries that we have here in Halifax. I happened to notice a grave where the name was written using a non-English alphabet. Much to my surprise, I could read it.

Apparently, through years of exposure to mathematical formulae, I've learned the Greek alphabet through osmosis.
