Everyone, please meet Nimona!!!!! She is 7.3 pounds. Balances on my leg perfectly without assistance, and naturally angles the neck up which encourages a straight wrist while I’m sitting down. She is in the satin burgundy mist finish. A Charvel Pro-Mod DK 24 HH 2 PT electric guitar. She has Seymour Duncan pickups and the tone versatility so far blows me away. I just read that #guitar#amp#wattage should be twice that of the #speakers, and that if too low, the sound will be muffled.
This may explain the #tone I get from my 5 watt tube amp through a Fender GE-412 300 watt cab.
Curious what everybody feels about electric guitar strings! I want to try a set of Elixir strings. I like Ernie Ball regular slinky. Super slinky too. I’ve been working on a song in C minor - what the hell was I thinking? Three flats and no open strings for #guitar. I was studying B Dorian - that’s the Wicked Game key - but then went up a half step and played Ab / Cm as an opening chord and it sounded so cool. The other chords flowed from there - flats and all, and in between the usual fret markers. But you gotta dance with the one that brung ya. It’s going to be a cool track. #music#songwriting
Why am I getting obsessed with an Orange tube amp now? Yes it sounds incredible and is super versatile, from nice creamy crunch to full on doomy buzzing, but I not only cannot afford one, I don't even have a place to play it at, I'm not in a band or anything lol.

I'm still loving this PRS. I feel like with my other guitars, I learn what the guitar does and sounds like. It's kind of the opposite with this Custom 24-08. It's whatever I'm in the mood for at that moment. "I want to sound like a strat." "I want to sound like a Gibson." "I want to sound like an Ibanez." "I want a smooth jazz tone." "I want something a little more unique." And it just delivers.
OK, bought a power supply for a #pedalboard One of the pro-ish ones pro-ish pros promote. No more #DaisyChain. Now I'll be able to play Eruption. #guitar
Got new saddles for my main guitar (which is a modified Squier Bullet Mustang). I kept breaking strings, mostly due to the bridge being a cost reduced Strat style model with the strings not going through the body but only "top loaded" through the bridge itself. Trying some GraphTech string saver saddles to make things a little bit more reliable. They are Teflon so friction should be reduced to a minimum. Let’s see if they make a difference! Meanwhile, I got sidetracked again because this cute thing just arrived. The smaller version of the legendary Big Muff guitar effect pedal. It sounds just like its bigger sibling, noisy and sweet. It was a grunge era favorite and Hendrix allegedly used one as well. Love it. My PRS #guitar baby just came out of a successful little surgery with locking tuners and strap locks, and a fresh set of 10-gauge strings. I'm not sure why PRS pushes 9-gauge, but I definitely prefer the 10-gauge on it!
