Jedes Jahr organisiert unser Kollege @cartocalypse die FOSSGIS-Jeopardy, welche jedes Jahr aufs Neue das GIS-Wissen der Teilnehmer*innen auf die Probe stellt. 🧠
So since they always call having less than $0 "in the hole" on #Jeopardy I think those contestants should be literally lowered into a hole as their score goes down. Each would stand on a platform that lowers incrementally as soon as they get below zero, so at -$500 you're in up to your knees, at -$1500 only your head is showing, etc, until you disappear at -$2000. Let's do this
So, I know my opinion counts for nothing, but #Sony dismissing Mayim Bialik as a co-host of #Jeopardy is a serious error.
I have no issue with Ken Jennings. But if Jeopardy—and trivia/quizzing in general—wants a future, it needs to build a bigger tent. Mayim Bialik's presence was a very visible step in that direction. Dismissing her is a step backward.
Today in 1940, Alex Trebek was born in Sudbury.
Starting his career on the CBC, he was nearly a Hockey Night in Canada host but they wanted him to shave his moustache.
For 37 years, he hosted Jeopardy & became a television icon.
He died in 2020.
Tom Bergeron would have made a MUCH better host of Wheel of Fortune than Ryan Secrest. These game show producers have learned nothing from the whole #Jeopardy! affair I see.
