Might give #nnn file manager a test tonight as I see #VoidLinux has the latest stable whereas to use #Ranger I have to build from git to get the latest with sixel image previews for #foot .
Is nnn better than ranger especially with a #Wayland compositor such as #RiverWM ??
As long as I can easily extend it and have file icons and image previews even live ones then it should be OK.
Thoughts ? 🤔
No range anxiety, cheaper electric fueling at home, 4WD, can tow a trailer and can substitute for a home generator in storms like #hurricane Lee this weekend.
#linux people: what are your favorite #tui apps? I use #ranger all the time, I prefer #weechat for #irc, #emacs for rss reading, #tig to quickly look at a #git repo. #htop for system monitoring. That kind of thing. Any other great #tui apps out there I should be using?
Good Morning Friends! This weekend I set aside my #ARPG grinds for a bit and picked back up #GuildWars2 working on getting my #Ranger caught up with the content. This weekend I finished out Living World Season 2 and #HeartOfThorns ultimately stopping last night when I hit Bloodstone Fen.
#XTerm (Grand old terminal emulator) #Emacs (Grand old text editor that becomes your operating system) #Ranger (File Manager with a Terminal UI) #i3wm (Tiling window manager) #neomutt (Mail client with Terminal UI) #mpv (Media player) #yt-dlp (CLI client for YouTube) #GIMP (Image editor with gazillion keyboard shortcuts) #Feh (Minimal image viewer) #Firefox (The One True Browser)
In addition to testing out #Voidlinux again, I’m now also trying to become almost exclusively terminal based within my WM. So #Aerc for mail, #Tut for Mastodon, #Ranger as a FM, Neovim as a ‘DE-texteditor ‘ (so a .local/share/applications shortcut). Currently using #qutebrowser and #spotify as only exceptions and #Thunar as a fallback FM. It takes a little getting used to, although only fulltime ranger and neovim instead of neovim-qt are the only changes from my daily. But I like it!
