Seattle —> Portland with transit obsessed kid, day one report: one Amtrak ride (to portland); two MAX train segments; three streetcar segments; three bus segments. Where were we going? Oh, nowhere in particular. The journey is the destination. #pdx#portland#urbanism#PublicTransport#train#pnw#seattle
I quit #Starbucks because of this. I only go to privately owned coffee shops now, which isn’t always easy in #Seattle where there are 2 Starbucks on every corner.
I've been out here on the #westCoast for 18 years, and I have NEVER had #friedCatfish that was done right!
I don't understand why it's always SO BAD! It always tastes like a pool. They batter it with too much crunchy cornbread, and fry it too cold so its oily too.
I'm just gonna have to start a #foodTruck and show you yankees how #catfish is supposed to be cooked!

A question for gardening friends: I live in Seattle (Pacific NW region, Zone 8b). I have 3 lovely lupine plants in a part sun/part shade location. They have a bad case of powdery mildew, and an expert gardener told me they need more sun. She thought I could move them now. It's not full summer here yet - high temps in next week 55-65 degrees F, then warmer. Any opinions about moving them vs waiting til fall? Thank you! #Gardening#Seattle#lupine#nativeplants
The Museum of Science and Industry has this cute exhibit with a model train between #Chicago and #Seattle. They really skimped on the Seattle end of things -- our skyline is nothing like Chicago's but it's much bigger than what they have here. And time for that outdated viaduct to go too.
